In a major political shake-up, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party at the federal level.
The announcement was made during a statewide broadcast on Friday, where Fintiri revealed that the move also includes members of his cabinet and several state-level officials formerly aligned with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Governor Fintiri explained that the decision was driven by a commitment to the developmental interests of the people of Adamawa.
He emphasized that aligning with the APC would provide greater opportunities for infrastructural growth, social programs, and overall progress across the state.
Fintiri’s defection follows a trend of high-profile political movements in northern states, signaling a consolidation of support for the APC ahead of key national and local contests.
