Nigerian Army executes precision rescue operation along Kaduna–Abuja road

The Nigerian Army rescue operation in Kachia freed 11 kidnapped victims, ensuring safety along the Kaduna–Abuja road and reuniting families.

Troops of the Nigerian Army have conducted a highly effective rescue operation in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, successfully freeing 11 kidnapped victims along the busy Kaduna–Abuja road.

The operation underscores the military’s continued commitment to protecting lives, maintaining security, and dismantling criminal networks across the region.

According to a military source, the rescue operation took place late Monday night after soldiers stationed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Doka observed unusual movements via a long-range CCTV surveillance system installed to monitor the area.

The footage revealed armed men moving through the bush along the Gidan Duna–Amale axis, escorting what appeared to be kidnapped victims.

Acting swiftly on this intelligence, the Nigerian Army mobilized troops in pursuit of the suspects.

The source explained that upon sighting the approaching soldiers, the kidnappers abandoned their vehicles and motorcycles and fled deeper into the bush, leaving the captives behind.

This rapid response prevented any further harm to the victims and highlighted the effectiveness of coordinated surveillance and quick military action.

The operation ultimately resulted in the liberation of 11 individuals, comprising five adult males, three women, and three children.

The victims later disclosed that they had been abducted on October 26, 2025, from the Gada Mallam Maman community in Kachia LGA. Following the rescue, they were safely escorted back to their community, where they were warmly reunited with their families.

A spokesperson for the Nigerian Army emphasized that such rescue operations are part of ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities and ensure the safety of lives and property, particularly along the heavily traveled Kaduna–Abuja road, which has been a frequent target for abductions and armed robberies.

“Our commitment to securing all major routes and communities remains unwavering,” the source stated.

Security analysts have lauded the operation as a demonstration of improved intelligence gathering and operational readiness by the Nigerian Army.

The integration of technology, such as long-range CCTV monitoring, with rapid response troops, allowed for the timely interception of armed criminals, preventing potential loss of life.

Such operations not only safeguard citizens but also reassure the public and restore confidence in the military’s capability to respond to threats.

In addition to immediate tactical success, the rescue operation serves as a deterrent to criminal elements operating in the Kachia area and other parts of Kaduna State.

The visible presence of the Nigerian Army and the knowledge that surveillance and rapid-response units are actively monitoring key routes is expected to reduce future abductions and attacks.

The rescued victims shared harrowing accounts of their ordeal, highlighting the trauma faced by those targeted by kidnappers.

While the physical liberation from captivity was achieved, military officials noted the importance of continued psychological support and community reintegration programs to ensure the victims fully recover from the incident.

Community leaders in Kachia expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army, emphasizing that the operation has restored a sense of safety and hope to the local populace.

They further encouraged residents to cooperate with security agencies and report any suspicious activities promptly to facilitate timely interventions and prevent further abductions along the Kaduna–Abuja road.

The military has reiterated that operations of this nature are not isolated events but part of a broader strategy to combat insurgency, banditry, and kidnapping across Kaduna State and the northern region.

These actions aim to degrade criminal networks, protect communities, and maintain peace and stability.
