According to a statement issued by his media office, Olawepo-Hashim paid a solidarity visit to the Governor of Bauchi State and Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.

The meeting, which also hosted Senator Zainab Kure, widow of the late former Niger State Governor Abdulkadir Kure, centered on fostering cohesion within the party and addressing the prevailing political challenges confronting the PDP.

During the engagement, Olawepo-Hashim commended Governor Mohammed for his unwavering commitment to multiparty democracy and for his resilience in upholding party principles, even under considerable pressure.

He noted that political survival in today’s dynamic landscape depends not only on individual resolve but also on collective commitment to party ideals and PDP unity.

“The foundation of any strong political movement is unity. We must close ranks, rebuild trust, and present a cohesive front capable of delivering credible leadership to Nigerians,” Olawepo-Hashim said.

His statement underscored the importance of collaboration among party leaders to restore public confidence in the PDP and reposition the party for electoral success.

The discussions extended to include the PDP Deputy National Chairman, the Bauchi State PDP Chairman, and key aides to the governor, highlighting strategies for strengthening party discipline, ensuring transparency, and deepening engagement with grassroots structures.

The meeting was widely regarded as a platform to share ideas and align strategies that would strengthen the party ahead of upcoming electoral contests.

In a related development, Dr. Olawepo-Hashim also engaged with PDP Chairmanship candidates ahead of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections scheduled for February 21.

The meeting brought together the State Chairman, Secretary, members of the Board of Trustees, and incumbent Area Council Chairmen, reflecting a broad-based effort to consolidate support, enhance coordination, and promote good governance at the local level.

Described as strategic and forward-looking, the discussions focused on enhancing grassroots structures, promoting transparency, ensuring discipline in party activities, and preparing candidates to meet the expectations of the electorate.

Olawepo-Hashim emphasized that effective leadership at every level of the party, from national to local councils, is essential for sustaining PDP unity and driving the party toward electoral success.

“The upcoming FCT Area Council elections will test our organizational capacity and readiness.

“We must remain focused, disciplined, and united in our pursuit of service to the people,” Olawepo-Hashim said, stressing the importance of strategic planning, teamwork, and community engagement in delivering meaningful results.

Observers noted that Olawepo-Hashim’s engagement strategy reflects his deep commitment to strengthening leadership within the PDP.

By prioritizing mentorship, capacity building, and reconciliation, he aims to ensure that the party not only navigates political challenges effectively but also positions itself as a credible alternative capable of delivering competent governance.

Speaking further on party cohesion, Olawepo-Hashim highlighted that PDP unity is not merely an internal necessity but a strategic tool to restore voter confidence and build public trust.

He added that disunity often undermines party performance and diminishes its appeal among Nigerians seeking accountable and visionary leadership.

His meetings also addressed the need for discipline and adherence to party values, emphasizing that leaders at all levels must collaborate to avoid internal conflicts and promote transparency in decision-making processes.

“Leadership is not about individual ambition; it is about collective responsibility and service to the people,” Olawepo-Hashim noted.

The presidential aspirant concluded his series of consultations by reiterating his commitment to initiatives that will reposition the PDP through reconciliation, mentorship, and grassroots engagement.

By fostering inclusive decision-making, strengthening internal structures, and promoting PDP unity, he aims to inspire confidence among party members and voters alike.

In summary, Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim’s consultations reflect a clear vision: a disciplined, united, and strategically organized PDP capable of reclaiming public trust and delivering credible leadership.

His engagements with governors, party leaders, and local council aspirants underscore the critical role of leadership, strategic planning, and grassroots mobilization in achieving electoral success.

With the FCT Area Council elections approaching, Olawepo-Hashim’s efforts to consolidate party structures, reinforce discipline, and promote reconciliation demonstrate a proactive approach to ensuring that the PDP remains a strong, viable, and united political force in Nigeria.

The overarching goal remains clear: a party built on unity, guided by principled leadership, and committed to service at every level.
