Ondo State murder case: Rabiru Hassan and Femi Daodu arraigned over Ahmed Isah’s death, awaiting bail hearing at Olokuta Correctional Facility, Akure.

In a development that has gripped Ondo State, two men have been arraigned in connection with the Ondo State murder case involving the death of Ahmed Isah.

The accused, Rabiru Hassan, 33, and Femi Daodu, 32, appeared before the Akure Chief Magistrate’s Court to face charges of conspiracy and murder following a violent dispute on September 27, 2025.

Both men, residents of Igbolupa Camp via Idoani, were charged by the Ondo State Police Command.

According to Inspector Taiwo Oniyere, the police prosecutor, the accused allegedly struck Ahmed Isah on the head with a grinding mill stone, resulting in his death at about 7:00 p.m. in the Ondo State Magisterial District.

The court heard a two-count charge against the defendants under Sections 316, 319(1), and 324 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

The first count alleges that Rabiru Hassan and Femi Daodu conspired to commit murder, while the second accuses them of unlawfully striking the victim, resulting in his death.

The charges read as follows: “That you, Rabiru Hassan ‘m’ and Femi Daodu ‘m’, on September 27, 2025, at Igbolupa Camp via Ido-Ani in the Ondo State Magisterial District, did conspire to commit felony, to wit: murder, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 324 of the Criminal Code.”

“That you, Rabiru Hassan ‘m’ and Femi Daodu ‘m’, on the same date, time, and place, unlawfully used a grinding mill stone to break the head of Ahmed Isah ‘m’, resulting in his death, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 316 and punishable under Section 319(1) of the Criminal Code.”

The defendants did not enter a plea during the hearing. Inspector Oniyere urged the court to remand the accused at a correctional facility while awaiting advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

Defence counsel Israel Tiwo requested an adjournment to file a formal bail application, which was granted by Chief Magistrate Olateju Odenusi-Fadeyi.

The case has been adjourned to October 30, 2025, for the hearing of the bail application, and the accused have been ordered to remain at the Olokuta Correctional Facility, Akure until then.

The Ondo State murder case has sent shockwaves through Igbolupa Camp and nearby communities. Residents have expressed deep concern over the violence, noting that the area is generally peaceful.

Local leaders have urged law enforcement to ensure swift justice for the victim, emphasizing the need to deter similar crimes in the region.

Police sources indicated that the investigation involved witness statements, forensic examination, and recovery of the alleged murder weapon.

Authorities reassured the public that the legal process would be strictly followed to guarantee a fair trial.

Legal analysts have emphasized the case as a cautionary tale about community vigilance and conflict resolution.

“Incidents like this highlight the importance of early intervention in disputes,” one analyst explained. The use of dangerous objects like a grinding mill stone can escalate conflicts to deadly consequences, as seen in this case.

The Ondo State murder case has also drawn attention on social media, with residents discussing the incident and demanding justice. Advocates for victims’ rights have called for prompt judicial action to ensure that Ahmed Isah’s family receives justice.

As the bail hearing approaches on October 30, 2025, the community eagerly awaits whether the accused will be granted temporary release or remain detained at Olokuta Correctional Facility.

The outcome is expected to influence public confidence in law enforcement and the judicial system in Ondo State.

The Ondo State murder case underscores the destructive effects of unresolved disputes and violent acts. Authorities continue to urge communities to remain vigilant, report suspicious behavior, and trust the legal system to deliver justice.

The case reinforces the judiciary’s role in ensuring accountability and demonstrating that violent crimes will not go unpunished.
