The announcement was made on Tuesday, September 3, 2025, by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, in an official statement.
The declaration was issued on behalf of the Federal Government by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, highlighting the importance of the day to the nation’s religious and cultural landscape.
