Southwest endorses Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim 2027 presidential ambition

Southwest leaders back Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim 2027 presidential ambition, stressing competence and vision while rejecting Atiku’s sentimental appeals.

The Southwest chapter of the Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement has officially endorsed Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim 2027 presidential ambition, declaring him the most credible choice to lead Nigeria in the next election.

The group insists that the Yoruba nation is committed to supporting a leader who combines integrity, competence, and vision with the ability to unite the country.

Speaking at a press briefing in Osogbo, Osun State, the Southwest Coordinator of the movement, Alhaji Abass Olaniyi, dismissed the promises made by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku, now a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), recently described the Yoruba as part of his extended family, citing his marital ties and long-standing relationships with the region.

He also claimed that fears of Fulani domination under his leadership were baseless.

But Yoruba leaders, represented by the solidarity movement, argued that such appeals were sentimental and failed to address the real needs of the people.

“Our people are not swayed by mere words,” Olaniyi said.

“The Yoruba demand leaders with character and foresight. That is why the Southwest is aligning with Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim 2027 presidential ambition.”

Olaniyi described Olawepo-Hashim as more than a career politician. He highlighted his democratic activism, entrepreneurial success, and global exposure as qualities that distinguish him from other contenders.

Most importantly, he said, Olawepo-Hashim has the ability to serve as a bridge between North and South at a time when Nigeria needs unity more than ever.

“Dr. Olawepo-Hashim understands grassroots realities while also offering the vision to position Nigeria competitively on the global stage,” Olaniyi explained.

“That balance is what sets him apart.”

The movement argued that his Yoruba heritage and national acceptability make him uniquely qualified to uphold the region’s values of justice, fairness, and innovation while also addressing Nigeria’s pressing challenges.

The group also drew attention to the significance of political platforms. Olaniyi noted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under which Olawepo-Hashim is contesting, provides a stronger national structure compared to the ADC, where Atiku currently belongs.

“The PDP has a proven track record and a nationwide base,” Olaniyi said.

“Running on this platform gives Olawepo-Hashim’s 2027 presidential ambition a solid foundation that the ADC cannot match.”

Political analysts also agree that party strength will play a decisive role in the 2027 elections, and aspirants without formidable structures may face major hurdles in mobilizing nationwide support.

Beyond party politics, the Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement stressed that Nigerians are hungry for new leadership.

They argued that Atiku Abubakar represents the “old order” of politics that has dominated Nigeria for decades without delivering transformative change.

By contrast, Olawepo-Hashim is portrayed as a new voice—someone capable of championing reforms, tackling insecurity, and restoring confidence in governance.

“Southwest politics has always been progressive,” Olaniyi declared.

“Supporting Dr. Olawepo-Hashim means aligning with renewal and not repetition.”

One of Olawepo-Hashim’s strongest appeals, according to his supporters, is his ability to connect diverse constituencies across the federation.

At a time of heightened ethnic and religious division, the solidarity movement insists that Nigeria needs a leader who can foster inclusivity and rebuild trust.

Olawepo-Hashim’s record as both a democrat and entrepreneur is seen as evidence of his pragmatic, solution-driven approach.

His supporters believe he can build bridges across political divides and unify Nigerians under a shared vision of progress.

While the solidarity movement has firmly rejected Atiku’s outreach, some political observers note that the former Vice President still enjoys national visibility and influence.

However, they argue that in regions like the Southwest—where voters value competence and vision over recycled promises—Atiku may face an uphill battle.

Analysts also point out that the 2027 elections are shaping up to be highly competitive, with emerging voices like Olawepo-Hashim positioning themselves as credible alternatives to traditional political figures.

The endorsement of Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim 2027 presidential ambition by the Southwest chapter of his solidarity movement is a clear signal that many Yoruba leaders are ready to embrace a fresh path for Nigeria.

The group’s decision underscores a growing demand for leadership defined by integrity, competence, and inclusivity.

By rejecting sentimental appeals and emphasizing performance-driven politics, the Southwest is setting the tone for what may become a broader national conversation.

For the solidarity movement, Olawepo-Hashim is not just another aspirant—he represents the possibility of a new beginning.

As Olaniyi concluded: “Nigeria cannot continue with the old order. The time has come for a new vision, and Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim 2027 presidential ambition represents that future.”
