A Mar-a-Lago security breach occurred in the early hours of Sunday after an armed man entered the secure perimeter of Mar-a-Lago and was fatally shot by agents of the US Secret Service, according to federal authorities.
The incident unfolded at approximately 1.30am local time at the private club and residence owned by former US president Donald Trump in Palm Beach, Florida.
Officials confirmed that Trump was not at the property when the breach occurred and was instead in Washington, staying at the White House. Former first lady Melania Trump was also not present at the Florida estate at the time of the incident.
