Hon. Abiodun Oluyinka Omikunle, a House of Representatives hopeful for Ibadan North in 2027, has congratulated the newly elected local government executives following the conclusion of the Ibadan congresses.

The elections, overseen by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), were conducted successfully, marking a significant milestone for the political and democratic process within the local government.
The aspirant described the emergence of the new leadership across the wards as a significant step toward strengthening grassroots democracy and consolidating the party’s structure ahead of future elections.
He specifically commended the executives elected in Ward 7 of Ibadan North Local Government for what he called a transparent and peaceful process.
In a statement made available to party members, Omikunle praised Evangelist Laide Salisu, who emerged as the new Local Government Women Leader, noting that her leadership experience and dedication to mobilizing women at the grassroots would further energize the party’s base.
He also congratulated Hon. Segun Austin Adetula on his election as Local Government Ex-Officio 3, expressing confidence in his capacity to contribute meaningfully to party administration.
The Ibadan North 2027 aspirant further acknowledged the two Apex Leaders representing Ward 7 at the Apex body — Alhaja Tairat Adeyemi and Deacon Lukman Fatoyinbo.
He described their roles as critical in guiding policy direction and ensuring unity among party faithful at the ward level.
Omikunle equally extended his goodwill to the new Ward 7 executives under the leadership of Chairman Hon. Adedamola Dosumu.
He urged them to see their election as a call to service, emphasizing the importance of inclusiveness, accountability, and collaboration in repositioning the party for greater achievements in Ibadan North.
He also congratulated Engr. Salami on his election as the new APC Party Chairman in Ibadan North Local Government.
According to him, the chairman’s emergence signals renewed commitment to building a stronger and more cohesive structure that will deliver electoral victories in the coming political cycles.
While appreciating delegates and party stakeholders for ensuring a hitch-free congress, Omikunle called on all members to close ranks and support the newly elected executives.
He stressed that unity remains the backbone of political success, especially as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 general elections.
“The ward congress is not just about electing leaders; it is about reaffirming our collective resolve to deepen democratic values within the party,” he said.
“I am confident that the new executives will justify the trust reposed in them and work tirelessly for the progress of Ibadan North.”
He further assured party members of his continuous commitment to engaging with stakeholders across wards in Ibadan North, pledging to support initiatives that promote development, youth inclusion, and women participation in politics.
The ward congresses, which held across Ibadan North, were attended by party faithful, stakeholders, and observers who described the exercise as orderly and reflective of internal democracy.
As political activities gradually build toward the 2027 elections, stakeholders believe that the emergence of new ward executives will play a pivotal role in shaping the party’s direction and consolidating its presence at the grassroots level in Ibadan North Local Government.
