A tragic incident has left the Yanbula community in Plateau State reeling after a 20-year-old man, Ibrahim Mutari, allegedly killed his father’s 70-year-old stepmother, Hauwa Abubakar.

She explained that a violent altercation had occurred between Ibrahim and her elder brother, Musa, last year, during which Musa reportedly stabbed Ibrahim in the stomach.
Ibrahim was hospitalized after the incident, and according to Ummi, he made threats while in the hospital that he would seek revenge against the children of the deceased or their mother.
“One of the nurses warned us that Ibrahim’s statements were dangerous,” Ummi said.
“We took it seriously but never imagined he would act on them in such a cruel manner.”
She added that the victim had been a caregiver to Ibrahim during his hospital stay, looking after him until he was discharged.
“Despite her kindness and care, he went ahead and killed her,” Ummi lamented.
