Yobe Governor Buni distributes cars to APC chairmen

Yobe Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved the distribution of 17 brand-new Honda vehicles to chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the 17 local government areas of Yobe State, a move aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots coordination and improving operational efficiency.

The initiative reflects the administration’s efforts to enhance political organisation within the ruling party while ensuring that local government leaders have the necessary resources to carry out their responsibilities effectively.

Observers say the support is expected to improve the ability of party officials to engage with members, mobilise supporters, and coordinate political activities within their respective communities.

The vehicles were presented to the chairmen on behalf of the governor by the Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Gubana.

During the presentation ceremony, he explained that the gesture was meant to ease transportation challenges faced by local party leaders as they move across towns and villages to carry out their duties.

According to him, Yobe Governor Buni believes that strengthening party structures at the grassroots level remains crucial for political stability and effective governance.

He noted that the vehicles would assist the local government chairmen in maintaining regular contact with party members and stakeholders throughout the state.

Gubana also urged the beneficiaries to ensure that the vehicles are used responsibly and strictly for official party engagements.

He stressed that the support should translate into improved organisation and stronger participation of party members in political activities.

While addressing the chairmen, the deputy governor emphasised the need for unity within the party.

He warned against actions capable of causing division or internal conflict among supporters, reminding them that cohesion remains essential for the continued growth of the party in the state.

He further encouraged the local government leaders to remain vigilant against individuals who might attempt to undermine the party’s collective interest.

According to him, strong internal discipline and cooperation with state leaders will help maintain the stability of the party’s structure.

Political analysts say the decision by Yobe Governor Buni to equip the party’s local leadership with vehicles may also enhance political mobilisation ahead of future electoral activities.

With improved mobility, the chairmen are expected to coordinate meetings, outreach programmes, and grassroots engagement more efficiently.

The Yobe State APC chairman, Muhammad Gadaka, also spoke during the event, expressing appreciation to party stakeholders for their support and cooperation during the recent congresses that produced the new local government leaders.

He congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to demonstrate dedication and commitment in their new roles.

According to him, the gesture by Yobe Governor Buni represents confidence in their ability to strengthen the party’s presence across the state.

Gadaka reminded the chairmen that the vehicles remain party assets and should not be sold or diverted for personal purposes.

Instead, they should be used exclusively to support party operations and activities within their respective local government areas.

“The vehicles are meant to assist you in performing your responsibilities effectively and to help mobilise support for the policies and programmes of the party,” he said.

The APC chairman added that local government party officials play a critical role in connecting the party leadership with grassroots members.

For this reason, he urged them to maintain strong relationships with community leaders, party elders, and other stakeholders in their areas.

Observers note that such support initiatives often help strengthen political structures at the grassroots level.

By ensuring that local leaders are better equipped to reach members and organise party programmes, Yobe Governor Buni aims to sustain the APC’s organisational strength throughout the state.

With the distribution of the vehicles now completed, the newly elected chairmen are expected to begin using them immediately to coordinate party activities and expand political engagement across Yobe’s 17 local government areas.
