Hareter Oralusi Osun Governorship Ambition took the spotlight on Thursday as international businessman and Chairman of the Nigerian Capital Development Fund (NCDF), Dr. Hareter Babatunde Oralusi, declared his intention to contest the 2026 Osun State governorship election under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking at his official declaration in his hometown, Ile-Ife, Oralusi pledged to lead Osun State into a new era of transparent governance, youth empowerment, and economic transformation.
He said his decision to run was born out of a deep commitment to restore public trust and build a state that works for all, not just the privileged few.

Oralusi emphasized that youth empowerment will be the cornerstone of his administration. He expressed concern over the alarming unemployment rate in Osun, which he said stands at about 85 percent among young people.
“If elected, tackling unemployment will be my first priority,” he promised.
“We will open opportunities for our youths through innovation, digital skills, and enterprise support. Our young people are not lazy—they just need the right environment to thrive.”
He said his administration would create a Youth Enterprise Fund to support small and medium-scale businesses, invest in vocational training, and attract private investment to stimulate job creation across the state’s 30 local governments.
Oralusi also pledged to partner with international development agencies and private investors to promote sectors like agriculture, technology, renewable energy, and creative industries—areas he described as “the future of Osun’s economy.”
In outlining his policy agenda, Oralusi said education reform will receive top priority. His plan includes upgrading public schools, introducing digital learning platforms, retraining teachers, and expanding access to quality education.
“Education is the foundation of progress,” he said.
“Every child in Osun deserves a chance to succeed regardless of background. My government will ensure no child is left behind.”
On healthcare, the APC hopeful vowed to expand access to affordable services, especially in rural areas.
He proposed revitalizing community health centers and introducing a state-wide health insurance scheme to protect low-income families.
In addition, Oralusi promised a comprehensive infrastructure drive that will link rural communities to urban centers.
He said improved roads, power supply, and internet connectivity are essential for attracting investors and ensuring balanced development across the state.

“Our farmers are the backbone of our economy,” he said.

He also noted that rural development would not be neglected, emphasizing that his administration will expand rural electrification projects, water supply, and healthcare access to ensure no community is left behind.
On security, Oralusi promised to invest in community policing and modern surveillance systems to strengthen safety across Osun.
He said insecurity thrives where unemployment and poverty persist, hence his focus on job creation as a preventive measure.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to gender inclusiveness, assuring that women will occupy at least 35% of positions in his cabinet.
“Women are key agents of change. My government will empower them politically, socially, and economically,” he said.
