Governor Adeleke confirms PDP loyalty, dismisses ADC rumours

Governor Adeleke PDP loyalty affirmed as he dismisses ADC defection rumours, focusing on governance, party unity, and 2026 re-election plans.

Governor Adeleke PDP loyalty has once again been confirmed by Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, following circulating rumours that he might defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The Governor described these claims as false and misleading, created by political opponents unsettled by his growing acceptance across Osun State.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stating clearly that he has no intention of joining any other political platform.

He emphasized that his current focus is on governance, improving the lives of Osun residents, and preparing for his re-election campaign in 2026.

The statement highlighted that rumours of defection were deliberately spread to confuse the electorate and weaken confidence in both Governor Adeleke and the PDP-led administration.

“Reports suggesting that Governor Adeleke is planning to join the ADC are completely false and are attempts to undermine his growing popularity among the people of Osun,” Rasheed said.

The Governor urged citizens to disregard such stories, noting that his administration is fully focused on delivering tangible results for the people rather than entertaining political distractions.

Governor Adeleke’s dedication to the PDP remains unwavering, and he has announced his intention to contest the 2026 governorship election under the party’s banner.

Preparations are already underway to mobilize grassroots support, ensuring the PDP retains its leadership position in Osun State.

Party leaders and supporters have expressed their confidence in Adeleke’s commitment, citing his consistency and loyalty as proof that he will not abandon the party that entrusted him with the governorship mandate three years ago.

Defection rumours are common in Nigeria’s political environment, particularly ahead of major elections.

Analysts suggest that Adeleke’s rising popularity may have prompted political rivals to propagate false stories, hoping to destabilize his administration.

Despite these attempts, Adeleke remains undeterred. He has consistently dismissed the speculation and reassured the public that his loyalty lies with the PDP.

“As a man of the people, Governor Adeleke recognizes the trust and confidence that Osun residents have placed in him and the PDP, and he will never betray that mandate,” Rasheed emphasized.

While politics dominates public discourse, Governor Adeleke continues to prioritize governance.

His administration has been active in infrastructure projects, including road rehabilitation, hospital upgrades, educational improvements, and youth empowerment programs.

These initiatives, he asserts, represent the true dividends of democracy promised during his campaign.

The Governor also emphasizes inclusiveness in development, ensuring that both urban and rural communities benefit from government projects.

This approach, he believes, strengthens the bond between his administration and the electorate while demonstrating accountability in leadership.

Ahead of the 2026 election, the PDP in Osun has intensified efforts to strengthen its grassroots structures.

Voter registration campaigns are underway to ensure that all eligible supporters secure their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), enhancing the party’s prospects in future elections.

Governor Adeleke has consistently stressed that unity within the PDP is essential for electoral success.

Collaboration among party leaders, members, and grassroots supporters is seen as a key strategy to consolidate power and maintain public

Governor Adeleke’s reaffirmation of loyalty has been welcomed by both the public and PDP leaders.

Residents describe his steadfastness as a sign of integrity and dedication to the people’s will.

Similarly, party officials note that his declaration dispels speculation and strengthens the party ahead of the coming elections.

By addressing the defection rumours, Governor Adeleke PDP loyalty has been firmly established.

His administration remains committed to good governance, party unity, and preparation for the 2026 governorship election.

For Osun residents and political observers, the message is clear: Governor Adeleke’s political future is tied to the PDP, and rumours of defection will not alter his path.
