According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Buhari Abdullahi, the matter was reported to authorities by a Good Samaritan who discovered the victim lying motionless outside her residence with a severe head injury.

The quick action of the local community member ensured that the police were alerted promptly, allowing investigators to respond immediately to the crime scene.
