A Nigerian professional and public affairs advocate, Comrade Kayode Adeyeni Olagunju, has marked the third anniversary of his departure from Nigeria, reflecting on a journey he describes as shaped by challenges, resilience, and what he calls divine grace.
In a personal account shared to commemorate the milestone, Olagunju recounted the circumstances leading up to his exit from the country on March 17, 2023.
According to him, the days preceding his departure were marked by tension at his workplace, where he alleged that some colleagues were working behind the scenes to frustrate his career progression.

He claimed that certain individuals, including a direct supervisor, questioned his loyalty and suitability for advancement.
Olagunju said he became aware of these discussions after overhearing conversations about him and gathering evidence of what he described as deliberate attempts to undermine his reputation.
Despite the situation, he said he chose to confront the matter calmly.
In a direct conversation with his superior, Olagunju stated that he made it clear he had no interest in any contested position, expressing confidence that his future lay elsewhere.
“I am not interested in your position. What I truly want in life has already been given to me,” he recalled telling his boss at the time, suggesting he was already preparing for a major transition.
Shortly afterward, Olagunju proceeded on approved annual leave, a move that reportedly surprised many of his colleagues who were familiar with his strong commitment to his job.
Unknown to them, he said, plans were already in motion for him to leave the country.
Reflecting further, Olagunju revealed that his relocation had been years in the making.
He disclosed that he had previously explored opportunities in countries such as Oman, Bahrain, and the United States, and at one point even considered unconventional migration routes.

However, he ultimately abandoned those options, attributing his eventual relocation to what he described as a more guided and timely process.
Central to his narrative is the role played by HRH Prince Ade Olagunju, whom he credited for providing support, guidance, and encouragement during a critical period of his life.
He noted that his father’s influence extended beyond the family, describing him as someone who has positively impacted many lives.
Three years after leaving Nigeria, Olagunju said he now looks back with gratitude, describing his journey as one that, while not without its difficulties, has proven worthwhile.
He expressed appreciation for his background, the people who supported him along the way, and the opportunities he has encountered since relocating.
“The journey hasn’t always been easy, but it has been worth every step,” he stated, adding that his experiences continue to feel surreal.
As he celebrates the milestone, Olagunju remains optimistic about the future, expressing hope for greater achievements in the years ahead while maintaining a deep sense of gratitude for what he views as a transformative chapter in his life.
