Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) celebrates 2025 Christmas carol, announces staff salary updates, new transformer, and plans for continued growth.
The Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) marked the festive season with a spectacular 2025 Christmas carol celebration on Thursday evening, 12th December.

The event attracted staff members, management, board directors, and distinguished guests, all gathered to celebrate the season and reflect on the achievements of the year.
Chief (Mrs.) Dotun Olaitan, Chairperson of BCOS, officially welcomed the dignitaries, expressing gratitude for their unwavering support, both financially and spiritually, in sustaining the operations and growth of BCOS.
She extended special gratitude to the board of directors, management, and all staff members, acknowledging the challenges faced over the year.
“Although 2025 has been a demanding year, by God’s grace, we have been able to overcome about 70% of our hurdles, and there is still room for even greater achievements,” she said.
The Chairperson encouraged staff to continue safeguarding the corporation’s resources, stressing the importance of closing all loopholes that cause financial leakages to ensure continuous growth in internally generated revenue (IGR) for the benefit of BCOS.
In her address, Chief Olaitan highlighted several milestones for staff welfare.
She announced that salaries had been fully paid up to November for all staff up to level 16.
While the pay structure extends to level 17, she assured that the outstanding allowances for the final level would be cleared before the end of 2025, further underscoring BCOS’s commitment to employee welfare.
She also reaffirmed that the new minimum wage, which took effect in January, was fully implemented by the state government starting July.
These steps, she noted, were part of BCOS’s commitment to improving staff welfare and fostering a motivated workforce.
In a major infrastructural achievement, Chief Olaitan revealed that BCOS had acquired a brand-new electricity transformer.
This strategic development marks a significant milestone, freeing the corporation from the financial burden and operational challenges of constantly purchasing electricity.
The Chairperson concluded her speech by commending the entire workforce of BCOS.
She recognized their dedication and hard work, noting that their collective efforts had transformed the station into a more efficient and well-managed organization than it was when she first assumed office.
The 2025 Christmas carol event at BCOS was more than a festive celebration; it was a demonstration of unity, gratitude, and vision.
Staff and guests alike left the event with renewed commitment to supporting BCOS in its pursuit of excellence, ensuring that the corporation continues to thrive, grow its IGR, and provide quality broadcasting services to the people of Oyo State.
