Reports indicate that the violent event may have originated from a disagreement on Facebook, which reportedly escalated offline into physical confrontation.

Details suggest that the involvement of local influencers and certain security personnel contributed to the tragic escalation, intensifying public concern.

In response to Peresuodei’s death, the Bayelsa State Government launched a prompt investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

This investigation led to the arrest and questioning of several personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, who were allegedly linked to the events preceding the young man’s death.

Authorities have emphasized that no individual, regardless of social status or official position, is above the law.

Commissioner Iyamah Edebor stressed the importance of public cooperation in apprehending the suspect. In his statement, he said:

“Bodmas Prince Kemepadei is hereby declared WANTED by the Nigeria Police Force in an alleged case of conspiracy and murder of Patrick Peresuodei.

“Offense was committed at Amassoma/Yenagoa. A Warrant of Arrest has been issued against him by the High Court of Bayelsa State.”

An emergency contact number, 0803 358 0244, has been provided to facilitate tips from the public.

The Bayelsa State Police Command has reassured residents that every measure is being taken to ensure justice is served swiftly.

Law enforcement officials emphasized that the public should avoid attempting to apprehend the suspect themselves to prevent further incidents or violence.

Instead, coordinated action with police is strongly advised to maintain safety and uphold the law.

Community leaders and civil society organizations in Bayelsa have expressed concern over the case, calling for transparency and accountability from all parties involved.

Many residents have organized peaceful demonstrations demanding justice for Peresuodei and accountability for any officials implicated in the investigation.

The incident has drawn national attention, highlighting issues surrounding citizen safety, social media disputes, and law enforcement accountability in Bayelsa.

This case also underscores the growing role of social media as a flashpoint for conflict.

Authorities in Bayelsa State have urged residents to exercise caution in online interactions and to report potential threats before they escalate into violent confrontations.

Meanwhile, the ongoing investigation continues to examine how social media interactions may have contributed to the tragic outcome.

The Bayelsa State Police Command has made it clear that all legal processes are being followed rigorously.

Investigators are coordinating closely with the judiciary and other relevant agencies to ensure that Kemepadei is apprehended and brought to justice in accordance with Nigerian law.

The police have also assured that the rights of all individuals involved will be respected during the investigation.
