Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke completes Accord switch as he exits PDP amid leadership crisis,signalling a major shift ahead of 2026 polls.
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has officially joined the Accord Party (Accord). Adeleke had previously left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing widespread unrest at its national leadership as the reason for his departure. In his resignation letter — dated November 4, 2025 and addressed to the PDP chairman of Ward 2 in Ede North Local Government Area, Osun — he explained his decision by stating:

“Due to the current crisis within the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership … with immediate effect.”
He also expressed gratitude to the PDP for providing him the platform that brought him first as Senator (representing Osun West) and now Governor. On the evening of Tuesday, December 9, 2025, Adeleke formally unveiled the Accord Party as his new political vehicle.
