The decision was announced in an official statement released on Thursday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, in Maiduguri, the state capital.

According to the statement, the Commissioner for Environment, Engineer Emet Kois, and the Commissioner for Intergovernmental Affairs and Special Duties, Hon. Tukur Ibrahim Shani, have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect. Governor Zulum expressed gratitude for their service to the state and extended his best wishes to both men in their future endeavors.

To fill the vacancies, the governor appointed Engineer Mohammed Habib as the new Commissioner for Environment and Ibrahim Hala Hassan as the Commissioner for Intergovernmental Affairs and Special Duties.

In a related development, Governor Zulum also announced the appointment of Professor Yusuf Gana Balami as the new Executive Chairman of the Borno State Secondary Education Board.
