The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a woman following a shocking incident in which a 16-year-old boy was stabbed multiple times on Amosu Street, Ijegun, within the Alimosho Local Government Area.
The attack, which occurred on Thursday evening, February 26, 2026, has raised serious concerns about community safety and the protection of minors in Lagos.
The victim’s cousin, Febechi, shared a detailed account of the attack through her X handle, posting graphic images showing the severity of the teen’s injuries.
According to her posts, the boy sustained three cuts on the right side of his face, including one dangerously close to his eye.
Additional wounds were visible on his chest near the shoulder and on his forearm, with blood covering much of his clothing.
Febechi explained that the confrontation began after her younger cousin attempted to correct the suspect’s child, who was playing outside for an extended period.
“All he did was tell her child to go inside because it was late, and she responded by attacking him,” she wrote.
Shockingly, the suspect also stabbed the boy’s mother when she tried to intervene and protect her son.
“I am heateddd!!! A grown woman stabbed my 16-year-old cousin multiple times because he tried to correct her child, then attacked his mother. Please, I need help getting justice for him,” Febechi added.
She noted that the local police initially informed the family that arrests could not be made immediately, advising them to wait until the next morning.
The incident has sparked outrage among Lagos residents, particularly in Alimosho, as it highlights the dangers children face even within their own neighborhoods.
Febechi emphasized that the teen is a quiet, gentle boy with no experience in street conflicts.
“He was just looking out for the smaller kids like a big brother would. My family wants to handle this legally,” she said.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed on Sunday that the suspect had been apprehended and that the boy is receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
“The family was advised to report the matter at the nearest police station, which they did. The boy is receiving treatment at the hospital, and the suspect is presently in police custody,” a spokesperson said.
