Minister Wike hails President Tinubu’s infrastructure achievements in the FCT, urging critics to recognize the transformation and progress reshaping the capital
Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has hailed President Bola Tinubu’s monumental infrastructure achievements, emphasizing that the Renewed Hope Agenda has sparked an unprecedented transformation in the capital city.
According to Wike, the ongoing infrastructure projects in the FCT are reshaping the territory in ways that no previous administration has been able to accomplish, setting a new benchmark for future development.
Wike, speaking during the inauguration of the Wuye Engineering Infrastructure Project, praised President Tinubu’s decisive actions in revitalizing long-abandoned projects and launching new ones aimed at tackling the FCT’s infrastructural challenges.
The Minister pointed out that under the Renewed Hope Agenda, the FCT is experiencing its most rapid and wide-reaching period of development in its history.

He urged critics of the administration to recognize this extraordinary progress, stating that the opposition’s silence on these achievements only further underscores the effectiveness of Tinubu’s leadership.
“The transformation of the FCT under President Tinubu’s leadership is unmatched,” Wike declared.
“There has been no administration since the creation of the Federal Capital Territory that has delivered this scale of infrastructure development. Anyone who claims otherwise should speak up. Their silence speaks volumes,” he added.
The Minister stressed that the Renewed Hope Agenda is more than just a political slogan; it represents tangible results that are improving the lives of the people of the FCT, particularly through infrastructure.
Wike specifically highlighted the Gwagwalada District, where a wide range of infrastructure projects, including new road networks, utility services, tunnels, and sectorial arterials, are being completed.
These projects had been stalled for years due to lack of funding and political will under previous administrations. However, the Tinubu administration’s proactive approach has revived them, with major projects now reaching completion.
“When President Tinubu took office, he made it a priority to finish what others had left behind. Within the first year, we had already completed major projects, including the crucial interchange that had been a source of traffic chaos,” Wike stated.
In addition to road and utility developments, Wike mentioned that the FCT would soon see a series of educational initiatives aimed at improving the quality of schools and learning facilities.
“This administration’s focus is not only on roads and infrastructure but also on the education sector. In the coming weeks, we will unveil educational projects that will surprise many,” he said.
Wike noted that this is part of Tinubu’s broader vision to provide a well-rounded development for the FCT, ensuring that both physical and human capital are nurtured.
The Minister also lauded the partnership between the FCTA and the Area Council Chairmen, who have been instrumental in the successful execution of many projects. Wike emphasized that their collaboration has been vital in overcoming challenges and delivering results.
He praised their commitment, calling their efforts “record-breaking” in terms of delivery and efficiency.
“The results speak for themselves,” Wike said. “From Airport Road to Kuje, you can see the difference. This is what leadership and collaboration look like.”
Wike’s endorsement of President Tinubu’s infrastructure revolution in the FCT extends to the real estate sector as well. For years, developers in the FCT complained about the lack of essential infrastructure, which impeded the growth of businesses and the property market.
However, the Renewed Hope Agenda has led to a surge in infrastructure investment, giving developers the confidence to invest in new projects across the capital.
“Real estate developers no longer have the excuse that there is no infrastructure. Every day, new developments are being initiated, and the FCT is becoming a hub for business,” Wike noted.
The Minister called on residents and property owners in the FCT to take note of the changes around them.
“If you live in the FCT, if you own property here, your conscience will tell you the truth: leadership has returned to this country. The Renewed Hope Agenda is real. It’s not about my face; it’s about the work being done,” he affirmed.
Wike also emphasized that the achievements in the FCT are not isolated to one sector but are a result of the administration’s holistic approach to governance. While much of the focus has been on infrastructure, the Minister confirmed that the education sector is next in line for a major push.
“We are committed to improving the education system in the FCT. We will soon show Nigerians the strides we have made, and it will be a game-changer for many,” he stated.
As the administration continues to push forward with its infrastructure and education agenda, Wike expressed confidence that the FCT will serve as a model for other regions of the country.
He reiterated the importance of continued collaboration between the federal government and local authorities to ensure that these developments have a lasting impact.
“Together, we are changing the FCT. The pace at which we are delivering these projects is unmatched,” Wike concluded.
With these initiatives underway, President Tinubu’s vision for the FCT is becoming increasingly clear.
Under the leadership of Minister Wike, the Renewed Hope Agenda is transforming the capital into a vibrant, modern city that is poised for growth and development across all sectors.
Whether through infrastructure or education, the ongoing changes are a testament to the power of committed leadership and strategic governance.
