Uganda will be tough to beat– Uganda striker Melvyn Lorenzen has issued a stern warning to Group C rivals ahead of AFCON 2025 in Morocco, insisting his team will be tough to beat.
“Even against the big nations, it’s always a good result,” Lorenzen said. “We’ve never gone under; we’ve always shown ourselves in a good light. Any opponent won’t be comfortable.”
Uganda opens its campaign against Tunisia on December 23. They then face Tanzania before concluding the group stage against Nigeria at Fez Sports Complex on December 30.
Lorenzen emphasized Uganda’s growing confidence, stating: “It’s time to prove that again. We’ve worked hard in training, and our team spirit is at its highest heading into Morocco.”
This marks Uganda’s eighth Africa Cup of Nations appearance, and the team is eager to replicate or surpass its historic 1978 run to the final against Ghana.
“Every player understands the importance of this tournament,” Lorenzen added. “We have a mix of experienced internationals and young talents ready to make a mark.”
