Manchester United Benjamin Sesko Transfer Valuation: Barcelona and Juventus Eye £64m Striker

Manchester United Benjamin Sesko transfer valuation has reportedly been placed at around €75 million (£64m), with Barcelona and Juventus monitoring the striker ahead of a possible 2027 move, although United are understood to have no plans to sell him.

Sesko joined Manchester United from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2025 for a reported £73.7m fee and remains under contract at Old Trafford until 2030.

The Slovenia international has made 38 appearances for United in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing one assist during his time at the club.

Despite his recent injury problems, reports indicate that United still regard Sesko as an important part of their long-term plans under manager Michael Carrick.

Barcelona and Juventus monitor Benjamin Sesko

According to Italian outlet TuttoJuve, Barcelona and Juventus are interested in signing Sesko during the 2027 summer transfer window.

The report claims that the striker’s valuation is currently around €75m, which would represent approximately £64m based on the figures cited.

However, the reported valuation should not automatically be interpreted as evidence that Manchester United have decided to sell Sesko.

The striker’s long-term contract and his importance to Carrick’s plans mean that any potential transfer would require United to change their current position.

Barcelona have previously been linked with the 23-year-old, with TEAMtalk transfer insider Graeme Bailey reporting in June that the Spanish club were exploring a possible move.

At that time, Manchester United were understood to have no intention of allowing Sesko to leave.

That position was reinforced in August when Tottenham Hotspur reportedly made an enquiry for the striker and United rejected it.

Sources cited by TEAMtalk said Sesko was regarded as a key part of Carrick’s long-term plans, and there has been no indication that the club have fundamentally changed that stance.

United’s Sesko position remains unchanged

The situation surrounding Sesko has become more complicated because of his recurring injury problems.

The striker suffered a shin injury during the latter stages of the 2025/26 season and has experienced another problem with the same area during the opening weeks of the new campaign.

His latest setback has raised questions about Manchester United’s attacking options, particularly because the club did not sign another established striker during the summer transfer window.

However, TEAMtalk reports that United’s interest in signing another forward is not because they have decided to replace Sesko.

Instead, the club reportedly wants another experienced option who can compete with the Slovenian and provide greater depth in the position.

Graeme Bailey previously reported that United had wanted to bring in a like-for-like striker during the summer but could not find the right option while concentrating much of their budget on midfield reinforcements.

The club eventually strengthened that area with the additions of Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba, according to the report.

Manchester United consider another striker

Sesko’s continued injury problems have nevertheless made another striker a priority for the January transfer window.

Bailey reported that the lack of attacking options could no longer be ignored, particularly because Sesko’s shin problem has persisted since May.

The report said the recurrence of the injury had strengthened United’s desire to have another experienced forward available.

Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta has been mentioned in connection with Manchester United, but TEAMtalk says the club does not regard him as a potential replacement for Sesko.

That distinction is important because it indicates that United’s transfer planning is focused on squad depth rather than preparing for the Slovenian’s departure.

A second striker could therefore give Carrick greater flexibility while reducing the pressure on Sesko to play through a demanding schedule when fit.

Sesko transfer could attract major interest

The reported interest from Barcelona and Juventus is likely to keep speculation surrounding Sesko alive, particularly given his age, contract situation and previous transfer fee.

Barcelona have already explored the possibility of signing him, while Juventus are now reportedly considering a move for 2027.

However, Manchester United’s reported position remains that Sesko is part of the club’s long-term project.

That means the €75m valuation reported by TuttoJuve does not necessarily represent a price that United have formally set for a sale.

Sesko joined United for a significant fee and still has several years remaining on his contract, giving the club considerable control over his future.

His performances, fitness and role under Carrick between now and the next transfer windows could ultimately have a major influence on how the situation develops.

For now, the clearest message from the available reports is that Manchester United are looking to strengthen their striker options rather than actively pushing Sesko towards the exit.

Barcelona and Juventus may therefore continue monitoring the situation, but any move would face the obstacle of United’s current desire to retain the Slovenia international.

Manchester United face key decision over attack

The reported Manchester United Benjamin Sesko transfer valuation adds another layer to a developing transfer story, but it does not appear to have changed the club’s stance.

United are reportedly preparing to explore the striker market again, with the January window offering an opportunity to address the lack of depth in attack.

Sesko’s recurring injury issue makes that need more pressing, but the club’s reported pursuit of another forward is being framed as additional competition rather than succession planning.

With Sesko contracted until 2030, Barcelona and Juventus could face a difficult negotiation if they decide to pursue the striker seriously.

For Manchester United, the immediate priority appears to be ensuring that Carrick has enough attacking options while continuing to develop Sesko as a central figure in the team’s long-term plans.
