Katsina State Government has officially launched an ambitious recruitment drive to employ 2,000 medical personnel and 2,000 teachers, a move aimed at strengthening public service delivery and addressing critical gaps in healthcare and education across the state.

This initiative, announced by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, reflects the administration’s commitment to improving access to quality services while generating employment opportunities for qualified professionals and youths.
Governor Radda made the announcement during a supervisory visit to the ongoing verification exercise being conducted by the state committee responsible for a comprehensive staff audit.
The Governor emphasized that the verification process is a crucial step in ensuring that the upcoming recruitment exercise is transparent, merit-based, and credible.
“Our focus is on fairness and professionalism,” he said, urging all committee members to execute their duties diligently.
In the health sector, Governor Radda disclosed that over 1,000 medical staff are set to receive their employment letters soon, marking a significant milestone in the state’s effort to tackle manpower shortages in hospitals and primary healthcare centres.
An additional 2,000 medical personnel will be recruited to further reinforce healthcare delivery.
According to the Governor, this recruitment initiative is aligned with the administration’s broader objective of providing efficient, affordable, and accessible healthcare services to residents.
“A well-staffed healthcare system is the backbone of our state’s development,” he said.
The recruitment exercise is not limited to healthcare. In the education sector, Governor Radda revealed that the state plans to hire approximately 2,000 teachers to fill vacancies created by retirements and other manpower gaps in public schools.
The move is designed to ensure that every child in Katsina State has access to quality education, regardless of location.
“By strengthening our teaching workforce, we are investing in the future of our children and the development of our society,” the Governor noted.
Beyond addressing immediate workforce shortages, the Governor highlighted that the dual recruitment drive is part of a larger strategy to enhance public service delivery while promoting economic growth.
The initiative is expected to create substantial employment opportunities for youths and professionals across Katsina State, thereby supporting the state’s socio-economic development goals.
Governor Radda also emphasized the importance of public support for the recruitment process.
He called on residents to encourage qualified candidates to participate and to trust in the government’s commitment to fairness and transparency.
“This is not just about hiring; it is about building systems that ensure the long-term well-being of our people,” he explained.
The verification and recruitment committees have been tasked with reviewing applications, ensuring qualifications match required positions, and conducting thorough background checks.
This meticulous approach is intended to guarantee that the recruitment process identifies competent and qualified individuals who can contribute effectively to the state’s healthcare and educational sectors.
The Governor disclosed that the recruitment exercises are expected to commence in the coming weeks, following the completion of the verification exercise.
He reassured the public that timelines would be adhered to and that the government is committed to avoiding delays that could impede service delivery.
Healthcare experts in Katsina State have welcomed the initiative, noting that additional medical personnel will significantly reduce the burden on hospitals and improve patient care.
Similarly, education stakeholders have praised the plan to hire more teachers, highlighting the positive impact on classroom learning, student outcomes, and overall school performance.
This recruitment drive also aligns with Katsina State Government’s vision of a well-rounded public service framework, where both healthcare and education sectors are adequately staffed to meet growing population needs.
By prioritizing manpower development, the administration aims to ensure sustainable progress and long-term socio-economic benefits for the state.
