DJ Chicken faces criminal prosecution in Ogun State after repeated reckless driving incidents endangering lives, prompting urgent legal and public safety actions.
The Ogun State Ministry of Justice has announced plans to prosecute popular TikTok content creator DJ Chicken, whose real name is Ademola Abiodun, following a series of dangerous road incidents that have alarmed the public.

Authorities say his repeated reckless behavior on the roads poses a serious risk to pedestrians, motorcyclists, and other drivers.
The latest incidents began on November 1, 2025, in Sagamu, Ogun State, when DJ Chicken allegedly collided with two motorcycles, seriously injuring a rider and a female passenger.
Eyewitnesses reported that he attempted to flee the scene but was stopped by bystanders until law enforcement arrived.
The Ministry emphasized that such actions are not only a civil concern but also constitute criminal liability.
“While traffic accidents are sometimes resolved as civil disputes, repeated dangerous conduct by certain road users must be addressed under criminal law. DJ Chicken is a clear example of this,” the Ministry stated in an official release.
Less than three weeks later, on November 23, 2025, DJ Chicken was involved in another traffic incident in Lekki, Lagos State.
In this case, he narrowly avoided striking pedestrians, with quick reflexes preventing a potentially fatal accident.
The Ministry cited this event as further evidence of his disregard for public safety.
To ensure accountability, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has directed relevant officers to expedite proceedings in the Sagamu crash case for prompt arraignment.
The Ministry stressed that public protection is the priority, and no individual—regardless of fame or social media influence—should be allowed to endanger lives repeatedly.
Legal analysts note that the prosecution of DJ Chicken could serve as a benchmark for road safety enforcement in Nigeria.
Repeated reckless driving, especially when it harms others, falls clearly under criminal jurisdiction.
This case may also encourage stricter adherence to traffic laws and serve as a warning to other drivers.
Public reaction has been largely critical, with many expressing shock that a well-known content creator could engage in such risky behavior.
Residents of Sagamu and Lekki have called on authorities to ensure that DJ Chicken is held fully responsible for his actions.
The Ministry continues to work closely with the police to strengthen road safety measures and prevent future incidents.
“The Office of the Attorney-General is committed to safeguarding the public and holding dangerous drivers accountable. Our collaboration with law enforcement ensures justice is served,” the statement added.
As legal proceedings move forward, the case of DJ Chicken highlights the broader issue of road safety enforcement in Nigeria.
It underscores that social media influence does not grant immunity from the law and that public safety must always take priority. Authorities have vowed continued vigilance to prevent further incidents and protect citizens from reckless drivers.
