Angola vs Egypt finished in a goalless draw on Sunday night as Egypt secured top spot in Group B at the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 despite fielding a heavily rotated squad.
The Group B encounter at Stade Adrar in Agadir saw Angola dominate possession and chances, but Egypt’s disciplined defence ensured the Angola vs Egypt clash ended 0-0, sending the Pharaohs into the knockout stage unbeaten.

Egypt’s defence, led by experienced centre-backs, absorbed pressure calmly and limited Angola to speculative efforts. Tactical fouls and controlled tempo management helped Egypt slow the game when needed.
Yellow cards were minimal, reflecting a disciplined contest rather than a physical battle. Egypt picked up two cautions, while Angola received one, with no red cards shown.
As the clock ran down, Angola intensified attacks, winning corners and forcing shots from distance. However, Egypt’s defensive shape remained intact, frustrating the hosts and their supporters.
The draw confirmed Egypt’s position at the top of Group B with seven points from three matches. South Africa finished second and also progressed to the knockout stage.
For Angola, the result meant elimination from the tournament. Despite flashes of quality, their inability to score proved costly across the group stage.
Egypt will now turn attention to the Round of 16, where they are expected to face a third-placed qualifier. With Mohamed Salah rested and key players fresh, the Pharaohs remain strong contenders.
