President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has strongly denounced the recent wave of violence in parts of Plateau and Kaduna states, describing the attacks as cruel, calculated, and completely unacceptable.
The incidents, which occurred in Angwan Rukuba in Jos and Kahir village in Kaduna State, have drawn nationwide concern over rising insecurity.
Reacting to the Plateau attacks, the President said the killings of innocent residents and the abduction of wedding guests represent a direct challenge to Nigeria’s unity and shared humanity.
He emphasized that no society can thrive under the weight of such senseless violence, adding that the perpetrators would face the full force of the law.
According to a statement issued by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described the attackers as cowardly individuals who deliberately target vulnerable communities under the cover of darkness.
He noted that beyond the immediate devastation, the Plateau attacks appear designed to provoke reprisals and deepen divisions among communities.

The President therefore directed all security agencies to intensify intelligence gathering and operational responses to prevent further incidents.
He stressed that addressing the Plateau attacks requires both immediate enforcement action and long-term strategic planning.
Tinubu also warned individuals and groups against spreading unverified or inflammatory information that could escalate tensions.
Speaking further, the President cautioned certain narratives suggesting that the Plateau attacks were driven purely by religious motives.
He urged the media and the public to avoid speculation and instead rely on verified facts, noting that misinformation could worsen an already fragile situation.
Tinubu reassured Nigerians that security forces are actively working to restore calm in the affected areas.
He called on residents to cooperate with authorities, particularly by following safety guidelines such as evacuation or temporary relocation where necessary.
According to him, public cooperation remains a key factor in overcoming security challenges.
While acknowledging the safe return of two abducted victims from the Kaduna incident, the President insisted that all remaining captives must be rescued without delay.
He urged security agencies to act swiftly and decisively, stressing that the success of rescue operations would send a strong message that criminal acts will not succeed.

The President also highlighted the need for a more proactive approach to security.
He called on intelligence units to act promptly on early warning signs to prevent attacks before they occur.
In his view, preventing incidents like the Plateau attacks is just as important as responding effectively after they happen.
Commending the efforts of state leaders, Tinubu praised Caleb Mutfwang for his swift response in managing the crisis in Jos.
He also acknowledged Uba Sani for coordinating rescue and containment efforts in Kaduna.
The President assured both governors of the federal government’s continued support.
In expressing sympathy, Tinubu extended his condolences to families who lost loved ones during the Plateau attacks and other related incidents.
He also prayed for the quick recovery of those injured, emphasizing the importance of national solidarity during difficult times.
Looking ahead, the President revealed that his administration is investing in advanced security technology to strengthen the capacity of law enforcement agencies.
These tools, he explained, will enable real-time tracking and response to criminal activities, making it harder for attackers to operate undetected.
Ultimately, Tinubu reiterated that the Plateau attacks and similar acts of violence will not define Nigeria’s future.
He called on citizens to remain united, vigilant, and supportive of security efforts, stressing that lasting peace can only be achieved through collective responsibility and trust in national institutions.
