Senator Abdullahi Adamu urges Nigerians to support Tinubu’s second term

A strong wave of political mobilisation swept through Lafia as key figures of the ruling party gathered to canvass support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

At the centre of the message was former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who urged Nigerians to consolidate the gains of the current administration by backing the President for another four-year mandate.

Addressing a large crowd at Lafia Square, Adamu said the achievements recorded so far under the Renewed Hope platform provide a solid foundation for continuity.

According to him, the reforms initiated by the federal government are gradually repositioning the country’s economy and governance structures, despite prevailing challenges.

The event, described by organisers as a solidarity gathering, was convened by the state coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, Dr. Labaran Shuaibu Magaji.

It was aimed at appreciating both President Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule for what supporters called people-oriented policies that are impacting ordinary citizens.

In his goodwill remarks, Adamu maintained that the Renewed Hope agenda is not just a campaign slogan but a structured roadmap designed to address economic growth, infrastructure development, job creation and national cohesion.

He stressed that reforms of such magnitude require patience and consistent leadership to yield long-term benefits.

“The President has shown commitment through Renewed Hope, and it is our responsibility as citizens to ensure that these efforts are sustained,” Adamu told supporters, adding that stability in governance is crucial for attracting investment and boosting national confidence.

The former Nasarawa governor also used the opportunity to commend the current APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, for strengthening internal party mechanisms.

He noted that vibrant APC leadership would be essential as preparations gradually intensify toward the next general election.

He pledged his loyalty and promised to work closely with party leaders to ensure unity remains intact.

Observers at the Nasarawa rally said the gathering reflected increasing grassroots mobilisation within the state.

Youth groups, women associations, and local stakeholders were visibly present, holding banners and chanting slogans in support of the Tinubu second term ambition.

Organisers said the turnout demonstrated growing confidence in the administration’s direction.

Senator Umar Tanko Al-Makura, the immediate past governor of the state and Northcentral Coordinator for the Renewed Hope initiative, also addressed the crowd.

He thanked residents for what he described as overwhelming solidarity, noting that visible development projects and empowerment programmes were strengthening public trust.

Al-Makura pointed to improvements in infrastructure and social investment efforts, arguing that continuity would enable the federal and state governments to consolidate progress.

He emphasised that political stability is key to sustaining economic reforms and ensuring that citizens continue to feel the impact of governance.

Supporters at the rally highlighted several policy initiatives they believe are aligned with Renewed Hope, including economic restructuring measures and targeted social interventions.

While acknowledging that reforms often come with temporary discomfort, speakers insisted that long-term benefits outweigh short-term adjustments.

Political analysts say endorsements from influential figures such as Abdullahi Adamu signal early strategic positioning ahead of 2027.

Although campaigns are yet to officially commence, public declarations of support are gradually shaping the narrative around the Tinubu second term conversation.

Beyond political rhetoric, speakers at the event repeatedly emphasised party cohesion.

They urged members to avoid internal divisions and instead focus on strengthening the APC leadership structure from the grassroots to the national level.

According to Adamu, unity within the party will determine its ability to present a compelling case to voters nationwide.

The rally also served as a platform to reinforce loyalty among supporters in Nasarawa State.

Many attendees described the gathering as a reassurance that their state remains aligned with the broader objectives of the ruling party.

They expressed optimism that Renewed Hope policies would continue to address unemployment, small business growth and community development.

As Nigeria gradually moves closer to another electoral cycle, political activities are expected to intensify across regions.

In Nasarawa, the tone set at Lafia Square suggests that early groundwork is being laid to sustain momentum.
