Oyo civil service examinations will hold December 16–17, 2025, as the state confirms dates, guidelines, clearance processes, and support for candidates.
The Oyo State Government has officially announced dates for the 2025 Confirmation, Promotion and Advancement examinations for eligible civil servants, reaffirming its commitment to merit, transparency, and career progression within the public service.

The Oyo civil service examinations are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 16, and Wednesday, December 17, 2025, with proceedings commencing promptly at 9:00 a.m. on both days.
The announcement was made by the Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, mni, through a statement signed by her Media Officer, Mr. Abiodun Atilola, and circulated to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
According to the statement, the examinations are a critical component of the state’s structured human resource development framework, designed to ensure that promotions and confirmations are earned through competence and due process.
Mrs. Oni explained that the list of candidates eligible to participate in the Oyo civil service examinations, along with their designated centre numbers, has already been released.
She noted that the compilation of names followed a careful review of expressions of interest submitted by civil servants through an online Google Form within the approved registration period.
This digital approach, she added, was adopted to improve efficiency, accountability, and data accuracy.
Addressing concerns raised by some applicants, the Head of Service clarified the meaning of the “uncleared” status attached to certain names on the list.
She stated that candidates whose names appear as uncleared may be affected by issues such as name discrepancies, incorrect or incomplete payment details, or payments made after the official submission deadline of October 31, 2025.
However, she reassured all affected candidates that the situation is not irredeemable.
“There is no cause for alarm,” the statement emphasized. Candidates with unresolved issues were advised to arrive early at their respective examination venues, where officials from the secretariat will be on hand to verify documents and correct genuine errors before the commencement of the Oyo civil service examinations.
This proactive measure, according to Mrs. Oni, is intended to prevent unnecessary exclusion and ensure fairness.
To further guide participants, the statement outlined clear candidate clearance requirements.
These include the mandatory submission of the Google Form on or before October 31, 2025, as well as the presentation of valid evidence of payment.
The Head of Service warned that any payment made without a corresponding and timely Google Form submission would automatically result in disqualification, stressing the need for strict adherence to guidelines.
In addition, Mrs. Oni disclosed that desk officers have been deployed across all zones of the state to provide professional assistance to candidates.
These officers are expected to offer clarification, verify documents, and address complaints where necessary.
She encouraged candidates to remain calm and orderly, assuring them that the process has been designed to be supportive and transparent.
The statement also addressed the concerns of civil servants who may not find their names on the zonal lists despite completing registration within the stipulated timeframe.
Such candidates were advised to report to the designated complaint centres with relevant documents, including proof of registration and payment.
The secretariat, the statement assured, will investigate each case and provide appropriate resolution without delay.
Beyond logistics, the Head of Service highlighted the broader significance of the Oyo civil service examinations in strengthening institutional capacity.
She noted that regular promotion and advancement exercises motivate workers, enhance productivity, and reinforce professionalism across ministries, departments, and agencies.
Mrs. Oni also expressed appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde for sustaining a level playing field within the state’s civil service.
She credited the governor’s leadership for prioritizing fairness, due process, and equal opportunity, noting that these values have helped to restore confidence in the promotion system.
As the examination dates draw closer, eligible civil servants have been urged to prepare adequately, comply strictly with all guidelines, and approach the exercise with confidence.
The state government reaffirmed that the Oyo civil service examinations remain a cornerstone of its public sector reform agenda, aimed at building a competent, motivated, and service-driven workforce for sustainable development.
