The political atmosphere in Oyo State is already heating up ahead of the 2027 governorship election, with fresh reactions emerging over Governor Seyi Makinde’s political standing and the future of his political platform.
Elder David Oluokun, Publicity Secretary of the Oyo State APC Peace Advocates, has criticised the recent BOYE NATION/JAF Movement gathering in Ibadan, arguing that the event exposed what he described as declining political support for Governor Seyi Makinde ahead of the 2027 general election.
Oluokun, in a statement, questioned the absence of several prominent political figures and grassroots leaders from the gathering, while linking the development to what he described as growing political realignment in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 election.
He also claimed that some former PDP figures and grassroots structures are moving towards the APC and Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli.

MAKINDE HAS LOST OYO STATE POLITICALLY — HOW BOYE NATION / JAF MOVEMENT JAMBOREE EXPOSED THAT MAJOR POLITICAL PLAYERS HAVE DUMPED HIM AHEAD OF 2027

The ill-fated jamboree organized on Monday by the so-called BOYE NATION / JAF MOVEMENT — a gathering co-sponsored by a renegade, so-called Personal Assistant without political address and dominated by PMS thugs and drug addicts — has inadvertently exposed the harsh reality staring Governor Seyi Makinde in the face: He has lost Oyo State politically.
What was packaged as a show of strength for Governor Makinde's new political vehicle, APM, has instead turned out to be a show of shame and an open confirmation that the major political players in Oyo State have abandoned him.
The rally which was held at the N5.5 Billion CAF Rejected Adamasingba Stadium, a stadium with a meagre capacity of just 10,000 — yet they could not they look scanty .
The stadium that Makinde claimed to have renovated with N5.5 Billion, a stadium that CAF itself rejected as substandard, could not even gather real people. What was seen were rented crowds of PMS park touts, area boys and JAF miscreants.
If Makinde still had Oyo State in his pocket, why did his major political leaders stay away?
Many political leaders across the 33 Local Governments in Oyo State, who were active members of the PDP before the crisis that engulfed the party, have kept mute about their 2027 interest.
Many thought that since those leaders have not joined the APC like Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja who has emptied the whole of PDP Structure and other respected leaders did, they were still loyal to Governor Makinde's APM agenda.
Monday's JAF / Boye Nation jamboree has finally answered the question.
They did not show up.
The reputable and respected leaders, some of whom laboured, spent money and risked their lives for the victorious emergence of GSM in 2019 and 2023, were conspicuously absent.
No single former Commissioner of repute, no genuine local government party chairman, no respected women leader, no credible youth leader was there.Even a popular Fuji musician stayed away from the shinigans
The only faces were the usual renegade PA without political address, the PMS lords and the same JAF noise makers who have no polling unit to deliver.
*WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?*
It means three things:
1. PDP is dead in Oyo State and APM is deader. Makinde destroyed PDP with his selfishness and over-ambition. He is now trying to force everyone into APM, a party Oyo people have already rejected.
2. The Real Political Structure has left him. The structure that gave him victory in 2019 and 2023 — the genuine grassroots mobilizers — have quietly dumped him and are aligning with the APC and Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (BSA) for the rescue of Oyo State in 2027.
3. Makinde is now a General without soldiers. He has money, but he has no people. He has billboards, but he has no leaders. He has PMS thugs, but he has no voters.
THE WRITING ON THE WALL:
Governor Makinde played a major role in the drama that destroyed PDP nationally, thinking he would become the hero of APM. Today, even his own home base has rejected APM.
If a Governor cannot fill a 10,000-capacity stadium in his own state capital after spending billions to mobilize, after bringing PMS vehicles to ferry thugs, then he has truly lost Oyo State.
The BOYE NATION / JAF MOVEMENT jamboree, instead of showcasing strength, has revealed his political nakedness. The 2027 election will not be about billboards and hired crowds; it will be about the people — and the people have already moved to APC.
BSA is the next Governor of Oyo State. The leaders know. The people know. Makinde knows.
