Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo has disclosed that she has never met British-Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, and that she has been raped five times in the past.
In an interview with Biola Bayo on her talk show, Talk to B, the 47-year-old actress disclosed this.
The interview, which was made public today, January 3, 2025, revealed the actress’s opposition to rape and her annoyance with people who support it.
“I was raped five times in my life,” she added. We have a lot of rape apologists, I found out. If that person is my son, I will come for him without apology, regardless of who he is.
Iyabo clarified that she and controversial Naira Marley have never met in response to rumors that they are related.
The rumors were put to rest when she declared, “I have never met Naira Marley before in my entire life.”
Iyabo, a mother of two, also talked about her difficult childhood.
Her father struggled with addiction, saying, “My dad did everything—alcohol and drugs—so it messed him up at a young age,” she said. At 49, he passed away.
Iyabo disclosed that she was raised in Lagos by her grandmother, as she was not close to her parents. My grandma, who is half Igbo and half Delta, raised me. Before I knew my mother, I was probably seven years old,” she said.
