This N5 billion is meant to uplift our communities, not for politics or favouritism. Every kobo must be accounted for, and every project must reflect the real needs of the people
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has tasked councillors in the state’s 44 local government areas to act as bridges between the government and their communities. He urged them to identify pressing needs at the grassroots level and report them for prompt government intervention.
The governor made the call during a high-level meeting with councillors from all 484 wards in the state at the Government House in Kano.
By serving as vital links, the councillors can help ensure that government initiatives and resources effectively address the needs and concerns of local residents.
Governor Yusuf said, “You are the eyes and ears of this government. Go back to your wards, listen to the people, and bring forward their most urgent needs. Once you do that, we will act.”
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf announced that approximately N5 billion has been allocated for ward-level projects across the state.
These funds will be utilized to tackle pressing local needs, including renovating dilapidated schools, clearing blocked drainage systems, and addressing other infrastructure challenges that impact daily life in communities.
By investing in these projects, the governor aims to improve the quality of life for residents and promote grassroots development. This initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to addressing local concerns and enhancing community well-being.
“This fund is meant to uplift our communities, not for politics or favouritism. Every kobo must be accounted for, and every project must reflect the real needs of the people.”
