Executives from the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) Nigeria recently paid a courtesy visit to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in anticipation of the upcoming 75th World Real Estate Congress scheduled to take place from June 9 to 13. The prestigious event will be hosted at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, under the theme “Global Real Estate Renaissance.”
The delegation was led by Frank Okosun, President of FIABCI Nigeria, and included notable industry figures such as Bolu Olanrewaju, Senior Partner at Knight Frank Nigeria; Akin Opatola; Adeniji Adele, FIABCI President for Africa and the Near East Region; former President of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Bode Adediji; as well as Adeniyi Tinubu, Aderemi Fagbemi, and Rogba Orimolade.
According to a statement from the event’s Media Office, this congress marks the first time the World Real Estate Congress will be held on African soil. It aims to highlight Lagos’s vibrant real estate sector and promote the state as a prime investment hub, in line with the “Invest in Lagos” agenda. The congress will showcase the city’s immense potential for growth, innovation, and collaboration within the real estate industry.
Expected to draw delegates from over 70 countries, the event will gather investors, developers, policymakers, and thought leaders from across the globe. President Bola Tinubu will grace the occasion as the Grand Host, underscoring the federal government’s strong support for the event.
Distinguished keynote speakers will include Professor Yemi Osinbajo, former Vice President of Nigeria; Mr. Kevin Brown, President-elect of the National Association of Realtors (USA); and Architect Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, Minister of Housing and Urban Development.
Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu will serve as the Chief Host of the congress. He will be supported by Honorable Moruf Akinderu Fatai, Commissioner for Housing, as Co-Host, and Barrister Barakat Bakare Odunuga, Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing, serving as the Hostess.
Adding a touch of cultural grandeur, His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, is set to attend as the Royal Guest of Honour, elevating the prestige of the gathering.
In their statement, the organisers emphasized that the congress is positioned to attract top global industry leaders, investors, and professionals, further cementing Lagos’s status as Africa’s premier destination for real estate investment.
