Chief Adebayo Adelabu calls for APC unity in Oyo State to defeat PDP in 2027, promising better power supply, roads, and progressive governance.
Chief Adebayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power and 2027 governorship aspirant, has emphasized that APC unity in Oyo State is the only key to defeating the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and restoring progressive governance.
He made this call while addressing party leaders, stakeholders, and members during a consultative visit to the Ibarapa region of the state.
Adelabu stated that internal divisions had weakened the All Progressives Congress (APC) in past elections and urged members to bury personal grievances for the collective good.
He said the party must embrace reconciliation and cooperation to reclaim victory in the Oyo 2027 election.
“Our strength lies in our togetherness. No political party can rival us if we remain one and united,” he declared.
The Minister stressed that APC unity in Oyo State is not just an option but a strategic necessity. According to him, “Oyo is a progressive state, and we must return it to the progressive fold in 2027.”
He appealed to local party leaders to mobilize support across all wards and strengthen grassroots structures, assuring them that his campaign would focus on policies that directly improve citizens’ lives.
During the visit, Adelabu announced that his ministry had secured funds for the completion of three major substations in the Ibarapa region — a move expected to enhance electricity supply and industrial development.
He promised that work on the substations would begin within a week and be completed before the end of his tenure as Minister of Power.
“Electricity in Ibarapa has been a concern to me,” he said.
“Before my tenure ends, I will complete these projects so the people can enjoy steady power.”
He also revealed plans to install more solar-powered street lights and pledged to rehabilitate the region’s dilapidated roads if elected governor.
Adelabu reiterated that if given the mandate to lead the state, he would pursue progressive governance in Oyo through infrastructure renewal, youth empowerment, and agricultural transformation.
He pledged to support farmers with access to credit, farm equipment, and better transportation networks to enhance productivity.
“When I become governor, I will prioritize development that directly impacts our people — electricity, roads, healthcare, and jobs,” Adelabu assured.
He added that Ibarapa, known for agriculture and trade, would become a regional economic hub under his leadership.
The Minister also used the occasion to express loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, urging residents to continue supporting the President’s economic reforms.
He described Tinubu as a patriotic leader who genuinely cares for Nigerians and is determined to rebuild the nation’s economy.
“President Tinubu loves this country and doesn’t wish pain for anyone,” Adelabu said.
“He is setting the right foundation for a better future, and we must stand with him.”
Leaders and stakeholders at the event pledged total support for Adelabu’s ambition, saying his developmental achievements and leadership qualities give the APC an edge in the Oyo 2027 election. They described him as a disciplined politician committed to the state’s progress.
A party elder in the region noted: “Adelabu has shown true commitment to Oyo’s development. With APC unity in Oyo State, victory in 2027 is certain.”
In his closing remarks, Adelabu restated that his mission is to return Oyo State to the progressive fold and ensure a government that serves the people’s needs.
He maintained that the APC remains the only party with the structure, experience, and ideology to deliver meaningful progress.
“Our focus should be unity, discipline, and commitment. Once united, we will win Oyo back and bring prosperity to our people,” he concluded.
