The assailants not only inflicted serious injuries on him but also carted away his AK-47 rifle, leaving him unconscious and bleeding at the scene.
The incident occurred on Friday, September 26, 2025, around 7:00 p.m. During his routine patrol of the hospital premises, Corporal Ali was ambushed.
Witnesses later raised the alarm when they discovered him lying unconscious within the vicinity.
He was immediately rushed for medical attention, while security reinforcements were mobilized to trace the attackers.
In the aftermath of the incident, the command initiated a tactical operation which led to the recovery of the stolen rifle, several magazines, and a knife jacket used by the assailants.
These items were discovered at different disposal points around the Sabon Garin Kanuri swamp, a location known for its difficult terrain but often used as a hideout by criminal elements.
The police operation also resulted in the arrest of two suspects: 25-year-old Jarma Hussaini Adam and 16-year-old Mohammed Abdusalam, popularly known as “Uzaifa.”
Both individuals are residents of the Sabon Garin Kanuri community in Nguru LGA.
