Tinubu Set to Visit Benue on Wednesday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced plans to visit Benue State on Wednesday, following a series of renewed attacks and killings allegedly carried out by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

The President made this known on Monday during the commissioning ceremony of the Greater Abuja Water Supply Network, Loops 1, 2, 5, and 6, at the Federal Capital City (FCC).

In his remarks, President Tinubu expressed heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Benue State over the tragic loss of lives. He revealed that he had already spoken with the Benue State Governor, as well as other leaders and stakeholders in the state, urging them to remain calm and committed to peace.

“While I deeply sympathise with the people of Benue, I have reached out to the governor and other key figures to express our collective sorrow and to encourage them to make a conscious effort to sustain peace and harmony,” Tinubu stated.

Emphasising national unity and peaceful coexistence, the president said, “We are one big family living in the same house—perhaps in different rooms—but still under one roof. Our diversity should be our strength, not a cause for division. It is important that we learn to manage our anger and frustrations constructively.”

President Tinubu concluded by affirming his commitment to personally visit Benue State, stating, “I will adjust my schedule and travel to Benue on Wednesday to show solidarity and support.”

His upcoming visit is expected to underscore the federal government’s concern over the security challenges in the region and reassure citizens of efforts to restore peace.
