President Bola Tinubu has declared strong support for Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, praising his performance in office and urging voters to re-elect him in the upcoming governorship election.
Tinubu, who was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, made the appeal on Tuesday during the All Progressives Congress (APC) grand finale campaign rally held at the Ekitiparapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti.
The rally attracted top APC leaders, governors, lawmakers, and party stakeholders from across the country as the ruling party intensified mobilisation ahead of the Ekiti governorship poll.
Tinubu praises Oyebanji’s performance in Ekiti
The President described Governor Oyebanji as a hardworking and result-oriented leader whose governance style has earned him wide acceptance across political divides.
According to him, Oyebanji’s administration has demonstrated clear preparedness for leadership through visible development projects and people-focused governance.

He noted that several projects recently commissioned in the state during his visit reflected the governor’s commitment to infrastructure development and improving citizens’ welfare.
“You have a hardworking governor who has performed creditably well,” Tinubu said, adding that former governors and key stakeholders in the state have also expressed support for Oyebanji’s leadership.
Calls for continuity ahead of Ekiti election
Tinubu urged residents of Ekiti State to support continuity, stressing that the governor has governed with humility, inclusiveness, and a strong focus on development.
He said Oyebanji’s leadership has been marked by close engagement with farmers, traders, students, and traditional rulers, describing his approach as people-centred and stable.

The President also commended the governor’s working relationship with past and present political leaders in the state, noting that it has contributed to peace and steady development.
He called on voters to turn out en masse and re-elect Oyebanji in the forthcoming governorship election, describing him as a leader who deserves a second term.
APC leaders rally support for Oyebanji
Senate President Godswill Akpabio described Oyebanji as a peaceful, humble, and inclusive leader whose performance has been widely acknowledged across the country.
He urged residents to support his re-election bid, saying his leadership has united different groups in the state.
Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, expressed confidence in victory, saying Oyebanji remains popular across Ekiti due to achievements in education, infrastructure, workers’ welfare, and human capital development.
Imo State Governor and Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma, said all APC governors are fully behind Oyebanji, noting that his grassroots acceptance reflects strong performance and effective governance.
He added that the APC had conducted extensive grassroots campaigns across communities in Ekiti, expressing confidence in victory at the polls.
APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, also expressed optimism, stating that the party’s confidence is based on the governor’s performance and direct connection with the people.
He highlighted achievements in roads, healthcare, education, and scholarships as evidence of impact.
Oyebanji speaks on re-election bid
In his remarks, Governor Biodun Oyebanji said he is not relying on federal influence or political pressure to win re-election, but on his record of performance and fulfillment of promises made to Ekiti people in 2022.
He urged residents to remain peaceful during the election and expressed confidence in his administration’s achievements.
Oyebanji also assured that a second term would deliver greater development and more impactful projects across the state.

The rally was attended by several high-profile political figures, including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, APC governors from multiple states, former Ekiti governors, serving senators, ministers, and other senior party stakeholders, all of whom pledged support for the governor’s re-election bid.
