The latest Israeli airstrikes on Hamas in Doha, Qatar have resulted in the deaths of five lower ranked Hamas members, while senior officers of the sect survived the attack.
This casualties were confirmed by the sect’s leadership on Tuesday, 9th September 2019 in Qatar’s capital, Doha.
Qatar has strongly condemned the Israeli airstrike on its capital, Doha, describing it as a “cowardly” attack that targeted residential buildings housing senior Hamas leaders.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs released an official statement, with Dr. Majid bin Mohammad Al Ansari, spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, emphasizing that the attack was a blatant violation of international law and a serious threat to the safety and security of Qatari citizens and residents.
The airstrike has sparked widespread international condemnation, with many countries denouncing the attack as a flagrant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and international law. Some key reactions include:
United Nations: UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned the airstrike, calling it a “flagrant violation” of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He emphasized that all parties to the Gaza war must work towards achieving a permanent ceasefire.
Arab League: The Arab League Secretary-General, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, accused Israel of operating outside the bounds of international norms and condemned the attack as an “entirely unacceptable violation” of Qatari sovereignty.

Saudi Arabia: The Saudi Foreign Ministry condemned the attack, saying it “condemns and denounces in the strongest terms the brutal Israeli aggression and the flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar.” The Kingdom affirmed its full solidarity with Qatar and offered to support any measures Qatar may take in response.

Turkey: Turkey’s Foreign Ministry condemned the attack, stating that targeting Hamas negotiators in a third country undermines all efforts to achieve peace and reveals Israel’s intent to prolong war and expand its regional aggression.
The White House claims the US administration warned Qatar of the impending attack after being informed by the US military.
However, Qatar has rejected this claim, saying the warning came after the attack started. This discrepancy highlights the need for transparency and clarity in international communications.
The Israeli airstrike in Doha comes amid escalating violence in Gaza, where at least 39 people, including several aid seekers, have been killed by Israeli forces.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant loss of life, with at least 64,605 people killed and 163,319 wounded since October 2023. The international community continues to urge restraint and a return to diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.
