Senator Sharafadeen Alli celebrates former Oyo APC chairman Olayide Moshood Abas at 77, praising his leadership, loyalty and contributions to the party.
The Oyo Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. (Dr) Sharafadeen Alli, has felicitated with the immediate past chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Olayide Moshood Abas, on his 77th birthday.
In a statement he personally issued on Sunday, Alli described Abas as a veteran progressive, dependable party leader and one of the pillars of the APC in Oyo State.
He said that Abas had contributed significantly to the growth, stability and consolidation of the party through decades of political and public service.
Alli said that the former chairman’s wealth of experience, wisdom, loyalty and understanding of party politics had made him an invaluable asset to the APC.
According to him, Abas’ leadership has been characterised by maturity, courage, sacrifice and commitment to the collective interest of the party.
“All these years, Alhaji Abas has remained a loyal and committed progressive, contributing immensely to the growth and stability of our great party in Oyo State.
“He is a political leader whose wealth of experience and institutional knowledge remain valuable to the APC, especially at a time when the party is consolidating its structures ahead of the 2027 general elections,” he said.
The governorship candidate said that Abas’ experience had enabled him to provide direction and maintain stability within the party during a critical period.
He urged younger APC members to learn from Abas’ commitment to party organisation, loyalty, sacrifice and respect for party structures.
“Abas’s contributions to the APC will continue to occupy an important place in the political history of Oyo State.
“On this auspicious occasion, I celebrate not only his 77 years but also a life devoted to service, leadership and the progressive cause,” he said.
Alli prayed to Almighty Allah to grant Abas sound health, wisdom, peace and many more years of fruitful service to humanity.
He also prayed for continued blessings upon Abas’ family, while wishing him greater fulfilment in the years ahead.
