The emergence of a new political platform, the PMPM Movement, has signaled a more structured and performance-oriented approach to mobilising support for the re-election of Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
The initiative is designed to deepen grassroots engagement while presenting the governor’s achievements to communities across the state in a more organized and strategic manner.
The PMPM Movement was officially launched during the inauguration of its Enugu North Senatorial District chapter at the International Conference Centre, Enugu.
The event drew a large audience, reflecting strong interest and growing confidence in the governor’s leadership.

According to key stakeholders, the PMPM Movement represents a shift from traditional political support groups toward a more data-driven and purpose-focused structure.
At the heart of the PMPM Movement is the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, who also serves as its convener and grand patron.
He explained that the group was formed to ensure that support for Governor Mbah is not only widespread but also intentional and measurable.
He emphasized that the PMPM Movement is built on clear objectives, strong coordination, and genuine commitment from its members.
Prof. Onyia noted that unlike earlier political groups that often lacked direction, the PMPM Movement is rooted in structured engagement and grassroots outreach.
He explained that members are not merely supporters in name but active participants committed to promoting the governor’s policies and achievements across communities.
This approach, he said, is essential for sustaining political momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
A major feature of the PMPM Movement is its emphasis on youth inclusion.
Onyia highlighted that young people are being deliberately integrated into the group to ensure they have a voice in shaping political discourse.
By doing so, the PMPM Movement aims to empower the next generation while strengthening participation in governance and political processes.
He also stressed that the PMPM Movement works in alignment with existing party structures, ensuring unity rather than division within the political landscape.
This collaboration is expected to enhance communication between party leaders and grassroots supporters, thereby reinforcing the governor’s development agenda across all levels.
Speaking at the event, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Osinachi Nnajieze, described the PMPM Movement as a credible and authentic platform built on genuine belief in the governor’s performance.
As the State Coordinator, he maintained that the PMPM Movement is not artificially created but driven by real support from citizens who have witnessed the impact of the administration.
Nnajieze further argued that the opposition’s criticisms have continued to weaken because of the visible progress recorded under Governor Mbah.
According to him, achievements in infrastructure, security, education, and economic development have strengthened public trust and validated the efforts of the PMPM Movement to promote the administration’s successes.
In a similar vein, Barr. Ferdinand Ukwueze, Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, expressed strong support from the Nsukka zone.
He praised the administration’s developmental projects, including road construction, healthcare improvements, and the establishment of Smart Green Schools.
He stated that these achievements have reinforced the credibility of the PMPM Movement and increased public confidence in the governor’s leadership.
Ukwueze emphasized that communities in the Nsukka zone are fully aligned with the governor’s vision.
He added that when called upon, residents are ready to mobilize in support of the administration, citing tangible development as the reason behind their commitment to the PMPM Movement.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Frank Anioma, also highlighted the inclusive nature of the PMPM Movement.
He explained that the group is designed to bring together diverse voices while ensuring that everyone has a role to play in its activities.
According to him, inclusivity and participation are central to the success of the PMPM Movement.
Anioma urged members to focus on voter sensitisation and effective communication of government achievements.
He stressed that the success of the PMPM Movement depends on how well it engages the public and translates policy achievements into understandable messages for the people.
Adding his perspective, the Enugu State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Martin Chukwunweike, described the PMPM Movement as a positive development that complements the party’s efforts in the state.
He noted that the large turnout at the launch of the PMPM Movement reflects increasing grassroots acceptance and confidence in the governor’s performance.
Chukwunweike expressed optimism that the PMPM Movement will help expand the reach of the administration’s achievements across communities.
He said the coordinated effort between the movement and party structures will play a vital role in strengthening political engagement and sustaining support for the governor.
