Imole Campaign Council urges APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji to concede defeat, saying Governor Ademola Adeleke won the Osun governorship election.
The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, to accept the outcome of the August 15 Osun State governorship election and concede defeat to Governor Ademola Adeleke.
In a statement issued in Osogbo on Saturday, the campaign council said its collation of results from polling units and wards across the state indicated that Adeleke and the Accord Party had secured victory in the election.
TICC maintained that the results received through its situation room reflected the preference of Osun voters and demonstrated renewed support for the governor.
The council urged Oyebamiji to demonstrate sportsmanship by respecting the decision of the electorate, stressing that the interest of Osun State should take precedence over individual political ambitions.
It also appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that the results recorded at polling units are faithfully reflected during the ongoing collation and declaration process.
The campaign council further warned against any attempt to alter the outcome of the election through manipulated figures or political influence, insisting that the votes cast by residents must be protected and counted according to the established electoral process.
As monitored by IREPORT247NEWS, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the results from all 30 local government areas at its state headquarters in Osogbo, Osun State, in the early hours of Sunday.
While the final collation and verification of the figures were still ongoing as of the time of filing this report, the results declared so far placed Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), by a margin of 66,256 votes.
According to the figures announced by INEC, Adeleke secured 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji polled 444,811 votes.
The results further showed that the incumbent governor won in 19 of the 30 local government areas across the state, while the APC candidate recorded victories in 11 local government areas.
The development comes amid heightened anticipation over the official declaration of the overall winner of the Osun State governorship election by INEC.

EMBRACE SPORTSMANSHIP, CONCEDE DEFEAT, TICC TELLS OYEBAMIJI
The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) calls on the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Saturday’s Osun State Governorship Election, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and concede defeat.
The Imole Campaign Council states that, from the computation of results received from across the state by the IMOLE Situation Room, Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Accord Party have won the Osun State Governorship Election. The figures collated from the polling units and wards clearly show that the people of Osun State have renewed their mandate for Governor Adeleke.
The will of the people, as expressed through their votes, is clear and must be respected. We therefore urge the APC candidate to put on the noble garment of a democrat, accept the verdict of the electorate and concede defeat. Osun State is bigger than anyone’s political ambition.
An election is a contest in which the winner is decided by the electorate, not imposed on them. Saturday’s election represents the verdict of the people of Osun State, and that verdict must not be subverted through criminally manufactured or manipulated figures, the deployment of so called “federal might,” or political affiliation with the centre.
We particularly call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remain faithful to the results from the polling units and ensure that the will of the Osun people, freely expressed at the ballot, is protected throughout the collation and declaration process.
The people of Osun State have spoken clearly. Their votes must count, their choice must be respected, and their mandate must not be altered.
