Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested six suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and seized materials believed to be linked to terrorist operations in the North-East.
Troops operating under Sector 1 of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have disrupted an alleged terrorist supply network in the North-East, arresting six suspected logistics suppliers and recovering a large quantity of materials believed to have been intended for terrorist groups.
The operation, which was based on credible intelligence, is part of the military’s ongoing campaign to weaken terrorist organisations by targeting the networks responsible for providing them with food, equipment, communication systems and other resources needed to sustain their activities.
The suspects were apprehended during an intelligence-led stop-and-search operation conducted along a route believed to be used for the movement of terrorist logistics.

The Acting Military Information Officer of Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, disclosed the development in a statement issued to journalists in Maiduguri on Monday.
According to Goni, the operation took place at approximately 4:00 p.m. on July 19, 2026, following information received by security personnel regarding the movement of suspected terrorist suppliers.
He explained that troops positioned themselves along the suspected logistics route and conducted targeted checks on vehicles moving through the area.
The operation resulted in the interception of five vehicles carrying six individuals who were allegedly involved in transporting supplies to terrorist elements.
A search of the vehicles led to the recovery of a significant consignment of materials. Among the items seized were 202 cartons of herbicides, a jerrycan containing a substance suspected to be acid, one Starlink wireless internet communication system, six bags of NPK fertiliser and 10 bags of rice.
The troops also recovered 50 hoes and 20 packs of knapsack sprayer pumps from the intercepted consignment.
The military said the nature of the items raised concerns over their possible use in supporting terrorist operations.
While some of the materials may have legitimate civilian applications, the military believes they could also be diverted for purposes that support terrorist logistics and sustainment.
Goni said an initial assessment showed that the recovered items included materials with potential dual-use capabilities, meaning they could be used for legitimate purposes but could also potentially assist terrorist groups with their operational activities.
He specifically mentioned the NPK fertilisers and the substance suspected to be acid, saying both would undergo additional technical and forensic examinations.
The examinations are expected to provide more information about the intended use of the materials and determine whether any of them could have been meant for the production of Improvised Explosive Devices, commonly known as IEDs.
The military spokesman described the interception as an important achievement in the fight against terrorism, noting that disrupting supply lines can significantly affect the ability of terrorist groups to operate effectively.
He said the arrest of the six suspects and the seizure of the materials could help security agencies uncover a wider network involved in supplying resources to terrorist groups in the region.
Following their arrest, the suspects and all the recovered items were handed over to the appropriate Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation.
The investigation is expected to focus on determining where the consignment was headed, identifying its intended recipients and tracing other individuals connected to the suspected logistics network.
Authorities will also seek to establish whether other collaborators, financiers or sponsors were involved in facilitating the movement of the materials.
The military’s latest operation comes amid sustained efforts to weaken terrorist groups in the North-East by cutting off their access to essential resources.
According to Operation HADIN KAI, information obtained during preliminary debriefings of rescued hostages and families of terrorists who surrendered suggests that continued military operations and the disruption of supply routes are putting increasing pressure on terrorist groups.
The statement said shortages of basic necessities such as food, medical supplies and communication equipment had reportedly affected the ability of some terrorists to maintain their camps and sustain their operations.
The military claimed that the pressure had forced some members of terrorist groups to abandon their enclaves and flee, while others had reportedly left behind hostages, families and other dependants as they attempted to escape military operations.
The development, according to the military, highlights the importance of targeting not only terrorists on the battlefield but also the broader networks that provide them with the resources required to continue their activities.
Operation HADIN KAI reiterated its commitment to using intelligence-driven operations to dismantle terrorist support structures across the North-East.
The military said its operations would continue to focus on terrorists and those who provide them with financial, logistical and operational support, including suppliers, informants and other collaborators.
It maintained that depriving terrorist groups of resources, freedom of movement and access to essential supplies remains central to efforts to reduce their operational capacity.
The military further stated that the sustained disruption of terrorist logistics networks had contributed to the weakening of terrorist enclaves, increased surrender by some members of the groups and the release or abandonment of captives held in their camps.
Meanwhile, residents across the region have been urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by sharing credible information about suspicious individuals, movements and activities within their communities.
The military stressed that timely intelligence from members of the public could help security agencies detect terrorist movements, identify supply routes and prevent attacks before they occur.
It appealed to residents to continue supporting ongoing counter-terrorism operations, describing public cooperation as a critical component in the collective effort to restore lasting peace and security to the North-East.
