DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi has been promoted and posted to Delta State Command as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, to lead security strategies.
The Nigeria Police Force has announced the promotion and posting of DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who has been redeployed to the Delta State Police Command as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations.
His appointment, which was approved by the Police Service Commission, was followed by a formal decoration ceremony marking his elevation.
Before this new posting, Adejobi served with distinction as the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO). In that role, he became the official voice of the Nigeria Police Force, articulating the policies, strategies, and responses of the institution to national issues.
Through his leadership in the public relations unit, he enhanced the image of the police, built stronger communication channels between the Force and the Nigerian public, and fostered improved transparency in police operations.
The Force Headquarters explained that the redeployment is part of a routine exercise aimed at repositioning senior officers to strengthen policing nationwide.
Delta State, being one of the country’s most complex and operationally demanding commands, was deliberately chosen for Adejobi because of his proven ability to combine communication expertise with strategic operational management.
Police authorities emphasized that Adejobi’s diverse experience—spanning community policing initiatives, crisis management, operational command, and public communication—makes him a well-rounded officer for the challenging role.
His leadership style has often been commended for blending firmness with inclusivity, ensuring that the police remain responsive to the concerns of citizens.
As the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Adejobi will now take on critical responsibilities in Delta State.
He will be tasked with supervising all field operations, coordinating tactical responses to violent crimes, and implementing preventive measures against kidnapping, armed robbery, and other security threats.
Furthermore, he will play a central role in driving intelligence-led policing, fostering community trust, and ensuring stronger collaboration between the police and local stakeholders.
