The Oyo High Court has reaffirmed its directive allowing the PDP to proceed with its 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, ordering INEC to attend and supervise the entire exercise.
The Oyo State High Court in Ibadan has restated its position on the upcoming Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Elective National Convention, giving the party a renewed legal clearance to go ahead with its plans for November 15–16, 2025, at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba.

At Friday’s sitting, held on November 14, Justice Ladiran Akintola reviewed submissions from all counsel, including representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
After considering the arguments, the court reaffirmed its earlier interim directive issued on November 3, instructing INEC to be present at the convention and formally observe the process.
The decision removes the final layer of uncertainty surrounding the gathering and sets the stage for the PDP’s major political event scheduled to begin on Saturday.
