Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua: Fury confirms Dublin return before battle of Britain clash

The long-awaited Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua showdown appears closer than ever after Fury confirmed plans for a comeback fight in Dublin this August.

Boxing fans have waited years for the heavyweight rivals to finally settle their rivalry inside the ring, and recent developments suggest the blockbuster Battle of Britain clash could soon become reality.

Fury’s latest announcement has reignited excitement across the boxing world. The former heavyweight champion revealed he will return to action on August 1 at Dublin’s 3Arena, just one week after Anthony Joshua’s scheduled comeback bout in Saudi Arabia.

The timing of both fights has fueled speculation that promoters are preparing the groundwork for one of the biggest boxing events in British history.

After several failed negotiations in previous years, supporters now believe the Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua contest may finally happen before the end of 2026.

Fury Sets Dublin Fight Ahead Of Joshua Clash

Fury strongly hinted at his Dublin return through a video shared on social media while training in Thailand with boxing coach Robert “Sifu” McInnes.

McInnes said: “First time back in camp ready for the fight on August 1st. Tyson’s home.”

Fury also confirmed the plan himself, posting: “Let’s go August 1, Dublin, Ireland.”

The proposed event is expected to hold at the famous 3Arena and may also feature the rescheduled lightweight contest between Pierce O’Leary and Mark Chamberlain.

Tyson Fury Building Momentum After Retirement Return

The Gypsy King only recently returned from a 16-month retirement spell. In April, Fury defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov on points in a dominant performance that reminded fans why he remains one of boxing’s biggest attractions.

Two judges scored the fight 120-108, while the third returned a 119-109 verdict in Fury’s favour.

Speaking from training camp in Thailand, Fury appeared highly motivated ahead of another comeback appearance.

“He’s back in Thailand, baby,” Fury declared.

“Camp two, second camp.”

Anthony Joshua Preparing For Emotional Comeback

While Fury prepares for Dublin, Joshua is also getting ready for his own return to the ring. The former world heavyweight champion is scheduled to fight Albanian boxer Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia on July 25.

Joshua’s return comes months after surviving a tragic car accident in December that reportedly claimed the lives of two of his close friends.

Only days before that incident, Joshua stopped YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in six rounds during their widely publicised fight in Miami.

Battle Of Britain Fight Edging Closer

For years, boxing fans have demanded a Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua superfight, but negotiations repeatedly collapsed over financial disagreements and scheduling conflicts.

Now, with both fighters preparing for summer bouts only days apart, optimism is growing that the historic Battle of Britain clash could finally happen later this year.

If confirmed, the fight would become one of the biggest heavyweight boxing events ever staged in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Boxing analysts believe Fury’s Dublin appearance will serve as a final preparation test before entering negotiations for the Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua showdown expected to dominate global boxing headlines later this year.

Promoter discussions surrounding the Battle of Britain boxing clash have intensified recently, with broadcasters and sponsors reportedly eager to secure rights for a heavyweight contest capable of breaking pay-per-view records worldwide.

Fans reacted excitedly across social media after Fury confirmed his August 1 fight date, with many supporters calling the potential Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua matchup the biggest British boxing event ever.

According to reports, organisers are considering multiple venues for the proposed superfight, including Wembley Stadium and locations in Saudi Arabia, where Anthony Joshua has frequently fought during recent years successfully.
