Taiwo Hassan’s daughters, Lima and Kira, have appealed for urgent medical help as the veteran actor battles stage-four cancer and seeks further treatment.
The family of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has appealed for urgent medical assistance after revealing that the actor is battling stage-four cancer.
His daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, separately shared emotional videos on Instagram on Monday, calling on Nigerians, medical professionals, hospitals and well-wishers who may be able to help their father access further treatment.
The appeals came amid growing concern over the actor’s deteriorating condition, with his daughters saying the family is desperate to find medical professionals or facilities willing to take over his treatment.
Kira, in her video, disclosed that her father’s cancer had progressed to stage four. She said the hospital currently treating him had reportedly informed the family that it could no longer continue with chemotherapy.
According to her, the family is now searching for alternatives and is willing to consider any legitimate treatment option that could help improve the actor’s condition.
“Hello everyone, I’m here for my daddy. He has cancer and is in stage 4. The hospital is saying that they cannot treat him again, like they can’t give him chemo again,” she said.
Kira then appealed directly to hospitals, cancer specialists and individuals with connections to medical professionals who might be able to intervene.

She said the family was prepared to explore available options in its attempt to save the actor, adding that anyone with knowledge of a facility or specialist capable of handling his condition should reach out to either her or her sister.
“What I’m here for is that if you can treat my daddy, if you can start chemo for him, whether it’s medical or herbs, please, I’m begging you guys. Any help, anything, anybody that you know that can treat cancer, please,” she appealed.
Her emotional plea became more intense as she spoke about the pain her father was experiencing. Kira said she had never seen the actor in such a condition and asked for strength to cope with the situation.
She also disclosed that financial difficulties were adding to the pressure on the family, although the main purpose of her appeal was to find someone capable of providing medical care for her father.
Kira further revealed that Ogogo had expressed his fear of dying, a development she said had been particularly painful for the family to witness.
“He’s saying that he doesn’t want to die. Please, I’ve never seen my daddy in that kind of pain before,” she said.
She also acknowledged Senator Yayi, whom she credited with providing significant financial support towards her father’s treatment. The actress’s daughter expressed appreciation for the assistance the family had received while dealing with the difficult situation.
In a separate video posted on Instagram, Lima also made a passionate appeal for intervention.
Lima said her father’s condition had become serious and claimed that hospitals were no longer willing to continue treating him. Fighting back tears, she urged people with access to medical professionals or facilities to give the veteran actor another opportunity to receive treatment.
“Hello everybody, good evening. I’m here to ask for help from my daddy. He has cancer, and it’s really, really bad. And the hospitals are refusing to treat him. At least, please, give this man a chance,” she said.
Lima also explained that the family did not initially realise how severe her father’s illness had become. According to her, the seriousness of his condition only became apparent to them about three weeks before the appeal.
She noted that Ogogo’s physical appearance had not immediately suggested that he was dealing with such a serious illness.
“You see him, you can’t even know that something is wrong that bad. It’s just starting to show. We didn’t even know until like three weeks ago,” she said.
The daughter was also careful to clarify that the family was not using the appeal primarily to solicit financial donations. Instead, she said they were searching for people who could provide direct medical assistance or connect them with professionals capable of taking up the actor’s case.
“Please, I’m begging you. If you know somebody that knows somebody that will be willing to treat him, anything, we’re willing to try anything. We’re not here to ask for money,” Lima stated.
She equally acknowledged the support already provided by a relative, describing the assistance as significant during the family’s difficult period.
The two sisters’ separate appeals have now drawn attention to the health challenges facing the veteran actor, while the family continues to seek possible avenues for further treatment.
Ogogo is widely recognised as one of the notable figures in Yoruba-language entertainment, having built a long-standing career in the Nigerian film industry.
His condition has prompted an emotional response from his family, who are now hoping that individuals, hospitals and medical specialists with the capacity to assist will respond to their appeal.
The family’s immediate focus, based on the daughters’ statements, is finding appropriate medical intervention and ensuring that the actor has access to whatever treatment options may still be available to him.
