Manchester United has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Europa League after defeating Real Sociedad 1(3)-(1)1 in penalties. The aggregate score was 2-2, with the match going into extra time.
The Red Devils had a strong second half against Arsenal in their previous match, but they’ve only won two of their last eight matches. Real Sociedad, on the other hand, has been struggling domestically, losing their last three matches in La Liga.
In terms of future projections, Manchester United’s form in the Europa League has been impressive, with the team remaining unbeaten in the competition this season. However, they’ve had a poor record against Spanish teams, losing four of their last five defeats in the Europa League to Spanish opponents.
Real Sociedad’s away form has been concerning, with the team losing five of their last six away games. However, they’ve managed to force three draws in their seven meetings with Manchester United, including the first leg of this tie.
