The match, played at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, saw Juventus dominate possession with 49.2% of the ball. Despite creating several scoring opportunities, they were only able to find the back of the net once.
Genoa, on the other hand, struggled to create chances, with only three shots on goal throughout the match. Their best opportunity came in the second half, but Juventus’ defense held strong to secure the clean sheet.
The victory takes Juventus to 55 points in the Serie A standings, while Genoa remains in 12th place with 35 points. The win also marks Igor Tudor’s first victory as Juventus manager.
In the context of their head-to-head history, Juventus have now won 25 of their last 41 meetings against Genoa, with 11 draws and five losses. At home, Juventus have been even more dominant, winning 15 of their last 21 matches against Genoa.
As the Serie A season heats up, Juventus will look to build on this momentum and secure a top-four finish. Their next match is against AS Roma on April 6.
The win was a welcome relief for Juventus, who had been struggling to find consistency in recent weeks. Igor Tudor’s first victory as manager will undoubtedly provide a much-needed boost to the team’s morale, and they’ll be looking to carry this momentum into their upcoming matches.
Juventus’ victory was also marked by a solid defensive performance, with goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny making several crucial saves to deny Genoa. The Bianconeri’s backline, marshaled by the experienced Gleison Bremer, held firm against Genoa’s attacks, securing a valuable clean sheet. With their defense looking more solid, Juventus will be confident of securing a top-four finish and qualifying for the Champions League next season.
