Ibadan North East residents urge leaders to end money politics, embrace fairness and prioritize development, unity and public welfare over personal gain.

In light of recent developments within the political landscape of Ibadan North East Local Government, residents are calling for local government leaders to refocus their priorities and cease the politics of financial gain that is undermining the future of the area.

Notably highlighted by community advocate Amb. Ajagbe Sodiq, popularly known as Babasekenddugbe, the current political climate reflects a stark shift from the progressive ideals of the past.

The people of Ibadan North East Local Government and the South East Federal constituency deserve leadership that puts their welfare first.

Unfortunately, there is a growing sentiment that aspirants for party flag bearer positions are often sidelined unless they possess significant financial backing or familial connections within the political hierarchy.

This practice detracts from the democratic process and risks alienating dedicated party faithful and inclusive leadership.

The ticket to run for Ibadan North East and South East Federal Constituency is supposed to be our local government’s turn.

However, the selfishness of some leaders has led to it being returned to South East, which has spent many years on the seat.

This pattern not only undermines our rightful claim but also perpetuates a cycle of exclusion and discontent among the youth and constituents of Ibadan North East.

We, the youth and other concerned members of Ibadan North East Local Government, express our deep disappointment at the ongoing conflicts among leaders fueled by greed and competition for financial resources.

Instead of collaborating for the benefit of the local government, these disputes threaten the very fabric of our governance.

We urge the leaders of Ibadan North East Local Government to cease such divisive politics and recognize the immense potential that lies within our area.
