APC has submitted all 471 presidential and National Assembly candidates to INEC, confirming Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima for the 2027 election.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially concluded the submission of its candidates for the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections, successfully uploading the names of all 471 nominees to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Candidate Nomination Portal.
The completed submission confirms President Bola Tinubu as the APC’s presidential candidate, with Vice President Kashim Shettima retaining his position as the party’s vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
According to the party, the uploaded list consists of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates, 109 candidates for the Senate, and 360 candidates seeking election into the House of Representatives.
The submission marks the completion of the party’s nomination process for all positions covered by INEC’s online nomination portal.
The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, disclosed the development in a statement released on Sunday, shortly after the electoral commission closed its portal for the submission of presidential and National Assembly candidates.

Yilwatda described the exercise as a major achievement for the ruling party, congratulating its candidates, leadership and members for ensuring that all nominations were submitted before the deadline.
He stated that the APC had successfully achieved a 100 percent upload of its presidential, vice-presidential, Senate and House of Representatives candidates on the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal.
According to him, with the nomination phase now completed, the party’s attention will shift to nationwide mobilisation, grassroots engagement and preparations for the electioneering campaign, expressing confidence that the APC would work towards securing victory in the 2027 polls.
I congratulate our candidates, leaders, and members of APC on the successful 100% upload of our Presidential, Vice Presidential, Senate, and House of Representatives candidates on the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal (ICNP).
With this milestone achieved, our focus now shifts to mobilization and preparations for a successful campaign and decisive victory at the polls.
The successful submission came after INEC fixed 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, as the final deadline for all registered political parties to upload the nomination forms of their presidential and National Assembly candidates through the commission’s electronic portal.
Earlier, the electoral commission had provided political parties with access codes to the Candidate Nomination Portal on June 26, paving the way for the nomination process.
INEC also commenced the submission of Forms EC9 and EC9A to EC9E on June 27, in compliance with Section 29(1) of the Electoral Act, 2026, allowing parties to formally submit the particulars and credentials of their candidates.
With the successful completion of the exercise, the APC becomes one of the political parties to conclude the nomination process within the timeline set by the electoral commission, setting the stage for the next phase of political campaigns ahead of the 2027 general election.
