Oyo APC Youth League Declares Oct 4 Tinubu loyalty walk

Oyo APC Youth League has fixed October 4, 2025, for the Tinubu Loyalty Walk in Ibadan to mobilize grassroots, strengthen unity, and prepare for 2027 elections.

The Oyo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress Youth League (APCYL) has set Saturday, October 4, 2025, for the much-anticipated Tinubu Loyalty Walk in Ibadan.

The event, according to the group, will bring together thousands of supporters, party leaders, and ordinary citizens to demonstrate solidarity with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and prepare the APC in Oyo for the 2027 general elections.

Addressing journalists at a press briefing, the State Coordinator of APCYL, Engr. Ayobami Dagilogba said the loyalty rally is designed not only to celebrate President Tinubu but also to showcase the strength and unity of the party’s youth wing in Oyo State.

“The walk will be a powerful statement of commitment to our party and to our President.

“It will also send a clear message that Oyo APC is united, focused, and ready to reclaim leadership in this state,” Dagilogba declared.

Dagilogba explained that the Tinubu Loyalty Walk is not just another political gathering but a strategic step in APC’s preparation for 2027.

He stressed that the Oyo APC must learn from past mistakes, close internal divisions, and put the collective interest of the party ahead of personal ambitions.

“We cannot afford to go into another election divided,” he said firmly.

“The APC in Oyo State has both the structure and capacity to consign the PDP-led government into political oblivion. But this can only happen if we put unity above individual ambitions.”

Party insiders say the loyalty march is also meant to re-energize grassroots members, many of whom feel the APC has been weakened in the state by internal crises.

By mobilizing the base in such a public show of strength, APCYL hopes to rebuild confidence among supporters and project readiness for the political battles ahead.

At the briefing, APCYL outlined six pressing issues that require urgent attention if the party hopes to achieve victory in 2027:

1. Unity of Purpose – Internal rivalries must be set aside before and after congresses.

2. Youth Inclusivity – Young members should be fully integrated into governance and leadership.

3. Genuine Reconciliation – Healing divisions among aggrieved members is critical for restoring trust.

4. Protection of Hon. Ibrahim Shittu – The lawmaker representing Saki West must be shielded from alleged intimidation for exposing reckless borrowing.

5. Level Playing Field for 2027 – Internal democracy must be respected; candidate imposition would weaken the party.

6. Tinubu Loyalty Walk – The October 4 rally itself will serve as a symbol of strength, unity, and loyalty.

Dagilogba described these steps as “non-negotiable” if Oyo APC is to mount a serious challenge in the next elections.

Although the press event centered on APC’s internal affairs, APCYL also briefly criticized the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.

The youth group accused the PDP-led government of neglecting education, healthcare, grassroots development, and agriculture.

They pointed to the lack of model schools, the migration of medical personnel from state hospitals, and the challenges facing farmers as signs of weak governance.

APCYL further alleged that local governments remain stifled under Makinde’s leadership, limiting development at the grassroots.

Dagilogba summed it up bluntly: “The people of Oyo State are yearning for change. Our party is ready to provide the quality leadership they deserve.”

The event drew support from national party leaders. Comrade Olamide Lawal, the National President of the APC Youth League, commended the Oyo chapter for taking the initiative.

He described the planned Tinubu Loyalty Walk as a “strategic masterstroke” that would not only demonstrate loyalty to President Tinubu but also consolidate party unity.

“This is not just a walk; it is a movement. It is about showing the entire nation that Oyo APC youth are united, loyal, and fully prepared for the 2027 elections,” Lawal said.

He reminded participants that a similar solidarity march was held in Abuja on June 12, 2025, which drew massive crowds and reinforced confidence in the President’s leadership.

Women leaders are also expected to play a major role. The APC Youth Women Leader for Oyo State, Ayobami Hammed, pledged that women across the state would participate in large numbers.

“Our mothers, sisters, and daughters will be part of this historic walk. Women have always been the backbone of political mobilization, and this time will be no different,” she assured.

For political observers, the October 4 rally will be a test of APC’s strength in Oyo. A large turnout would signal that the party retains a strong grassroots following despite recent setbacks.

It could also serve as a springboard for broader reconciliation efforts across different factions.

Analysts, however, caution that a loyalty walk alone will not secure electoral victory. They argue that the APC must pair its public displays of strength with genuine efforts to resolve internal disputes and present credible candidates to the electorate.

Still, for many APC members, the upcoming Tinubu Loyalty Walk represents hope. It is seen as a chance to renew energy, reconnect with grassroots supporters, and signal that the party is ready to move past old divisions.

In its final message, APCYL called on President Tinubu, the National Working Committee (NWC), and the Oyo State Working Committee (SWC) to prioritize unity, reconciliation, and inclusivity in Oyo APC.

The group stressed that deliberate action by party leadership is necessary to consolidate strength and avoid a repeat of past electoral failures.

The press conference ended as youth leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the APC’s progress and the prosperity of Oyo State.

Dagilogba closed the event on a hopeful note: “The road to 2027 begins now. With unity, loyalty, and collective resolve, APC will deliver for Oyo people. The Tinubu Loyalty Walk on October 4 is just the first step in that journey.”
